Well personally, I feel patronised and embarassed by the sight of two middle aged and one trainee semi-talents behaving like chav joyriders in the local Asda carpark at 1AM.
If others don't, then I have no wish to speak on their behalf.
But I don't follow why their actions should reflect / effect you? Or why this leads to you attacking the show's budget etc..
I can't stand Eastenders, Corrie, Big Brother, X Factor, any reality show, half the comedies shown these days, etc....
I hate the fact our culture is so controlled by things like that and The Sun newspaper in fact, as per your other post. (The Daily Mail while we're on that as well!)
But they obviously appeal to people and I've no problem with that. I only watch a few TV shows, I'm not really fussed by the rest and am happy to leave others to it.
I'm attacking everything about the show, not just the budget.
If it were not made with licence payers money I might be less critical.
And the fact that commercial television is still trying to work out how to unsuccessfully produce even a weak copy of Top Gear just illustrates the depth of talent behind the scenes at the BBC. Fact
I hate reality TV, all the soaps and the junk that usually passes for entertainment on mass market channels but marvel at Top Gear for being an intelligently-scripted piece of incredibly well-produced and entertaining television. Jeremy Clarkson is a prize prat - I would probably end up punching him in an argument - but that doesn't detract from the fact that he can still entertaining.
Top Gear may not be for everyone but the same can apply to most programmes I can think of; not everybody likes Coronation Street, The Simpsons or The Wire.

I'm not a huge fan of Top Gear, fair number of things about it I don't like, then again I'm the sort of person who watched old Top Gear and still watches 5th Gear occasionally.
I have to say, Clarkson's film about the E-type Jaguar is one of my TV moments of the year, with the Spitfires, the Wingwalkers and the finale on Beechy head.
Stirring stuff, nobody does that kind of thing better.
Just watched it too....and for me, a good start {apart from the Hamster sketch}.... unlike the last series, which was a bit hit and miss...more so the latter.
It earns more for the BBC selling worldwide than the licence fee it costs to make.
It therefore gives the BBC more money and can spend that money on such rubbish as a Robotic Hare. Only an idiot would bring up a waste of licence fee when mentioning Top Gear... its like you hang around Tesco at 2am with cheap cider (see its easy to throw it back)
I was reading an article from the producer Andy Wilman and he was stated in the interview that the budget for a series comes from the BBC and BBC Worldwide, but the most of the budget comes from BBC Worldwide.
Think about it BBC Worldwide is a company that uses the BBC name. They have the licences to sell Top Gear to over 100 countries and then they have the licences to the DVDs' and Blue Ray licences to ship them all over the world. I have a feeling that Top Gear is making helluva lot of money.
I really enjoyed tonight, just a shame they let Flavio Briatore on the show. I was almost expecting him to tell May to crash at the hairpin to allow Alonso to win...

I've got some bubbly in the fridge in anticipation.
Be less critical then. It's not.

I'd give it a rest banging away at the budget, you're on a hiding to nothing, you've already been told that.
Still no answer to the question though.

Amy Williams....:p
That Mini...
And the ET~Jag tribute....was 'stirring' stuff.

The hot girls behind the presenters as usual

i think stuff like the mexican jokes and scripted challenges take a lot of attention away from the fact that at its heart its a quality show
My favourite bit was the aston martins
Wrangled!
