A good idea though
Yes, but Hollyoaks is owned not by ch4 but by all3media, and they would sell the show to a soap channel. Ch4 only own the rights to the current episodes!
A soap channel needs soaps that lots of viewers will actually watch.
A proper soap channel could screen a fair share of new US soaps, and various popular reruns - Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and Uk fare.
A soap channel on sky & cable would reach over 10.6 million homes! A mix of British/Aussie soaps and new soaps from the USor NZ would pull in the viewers. Mixed with other ITV dramas that are not really soaps but yet would fit this type of channel, such as A&E, Heartbeat, Wheir the heart is...ect.
I estimate that such a channel would get more than 3 million viewers a week! Thats more than enough to make a profit.
Also dont forget Men & Motors is owned by ITV plc, but they dont use the ITV brand to premote. This is because it is seen as a "cheap" channel and I guess a soap channel would also be seen in such a way. This is why it would be named 'SOAPIE' or somthing like that and not as an ITV brand.
do you really think ITV are going to take you seriously if you cant even spell the names of the shows you are suggesting.
Emmerdale classic -m Andy Burns down the fram shed
Corrie Hillman Years
Eastenders Ian and Cindy , Grant and tiffany
It was on TV back in '88 but I don't think Tony would call it soap, it was paint and paste mostly

I agree they wont get big ratings but small digital channels only need small ratings.
As for corrie-hillman years, please no, thats only a few years ago! Classic means from at least the early 90s!
