No need for links. I believe you.

But if BT lost, and the channels that are offered to both VM and TT were denied to BT, there would be somewhat of a kerfuffle, to say the least.

    Agreed.

But note the position would be the same for everyone - Sky would be under no obligation to supply Sky Sports channels just as BT is under no obligation to supply BT Sports channels.

NB. One exception - Sky is obligated to supply Sky Sports channels to VM only under the very old OFT ruling from approx 10 to 15 years ago.

You know, you made me aware of that ruling, and thats exactly what I was talking about. Can't have one rule for one but not for another.

However, with this new upcoming shift in Premium TV offerings, and the many, many changes that are to come, it would only make sense for all the providers to co-operate, as they're services start to overlap one another. Up to a certain point, of course.

    So to sum everything up

Sat May 18th League 2 Play off Final WEMBLEY
Sun May 19th League 1 Play off Final WEMBLEY
Sun May 19th Premier league Final Day
Sat May 25th Champions League Final Wembley
Holiday Monday May 27th Championship Play Off Final Wembley

That explains why Leagues 1 and 2 finish the normal season a week before the Championship

I don't get why ESPN and Sky are showing United games at all right now. Unless it's against another top 6 side, what's the point? Even City's games are pointless right now - the battle for European places is far more interesting.

Because they haven't won the league yet!

No they are not but Sky pick them anyway

Hang on. I could swear that Sky have also picked Reading v QPR and Aston Villa v Sunderland for that same weekend.

And regardless of if Manchester United have won the league or not by that weekend, the games are likely to be important for the champions league places.

Although it's very disappointing for Sky that the title is such a one horse race the positive for them is that so many teams are still under threat of relegation and the battle for the top 4 (plus EL) looks like going all the way.

If we say anyone currently on 33 points is still under significant threat then that's 8 teams in the relegation fight. Then if we say the top 7 are fighting for top 4 / EL then in total 15 teams still have an enormous amount to play for. Only the 5 teams from 8th to 12th don't have much to play for - and even that includes two teams on 34 points who still definitely need points for safety.

So just about every PL game is still important - which means just about all TV games still matter, even Man Utd games even if you take the view that they don't matter as far as Man Utd are concerned - which is arguable in itself as the title is not won yet (though it may be by the time some TV games are played).
