Londonwide FM'ers and local advertising for smaller businesses

On most London FM stations, the adverts seem to be for national or international companies or brands.
Bar LBC where I heard an ad for a North London tiling company, have you heard any local adverts for small to medium companies on the main FM stations in the capital?
Is it simply too expensive to buy slots on the likes of Capital, Heart and Magic if you're a double glazing company or timber merchant?

I always find it weird listening to non-London stations - and that includes stations from the US - and hearing adverts for local businesses. London apparently has no restaurants, garden centres, etc.
Back in the 70s and 80s when Capital and LBC were proper radio stations, worth listening to, there were loads of local ads.
Remember the Barretts ads, voiced and sung by the MD himself ?
'Once upon a time' blah blah blah for Barnes Roffe
or
'Ah-Powerflush'
Fortunately they have very short ad breaks and the ads can be ignored, but the Powerflush one is particularly annoying. Not on the level of We Buy Any Car.com but still annoying.
Local advertising for small and medium sized businesses are on Radio Jackie and Time 107.5, yet unless you have a CR station, it's seems very hard for most London businesses of that scale to get on the mainstream FM'ers.
Oddly, Talksport run their London advertising on DAB nationwide, so I get to hear quite a bit of it in the Midlands. Not sure I'd be very pleased if I were a Midlands advertiser...
Capital doesn't seem to have any local advertising.
Ads played on Kiss 100 at 2058:
Dorothy Perkins
Club night in Romford
Clinical trail for Asthma
Smooth DAB on D1 and 102.2 in London have played ads from the Metropolitan Police.
They'd start as a ceremony for instance a woman cheering 'And the award for best newcomer goes to xxx' (cheers) 'Sadly xxx can't be with us tonight as she's at the' (straight cut no delay to a stern sounding man) 'Bartholomew Cemetery for children'. It was aimed at children to look twice before crossing the road, I never liked that campaign though.
