I know this wont happen but has anyone ever thought about recasting docs 1-6? 7&8 could still do the role justice I reckon
1&2 I've not got any names at mo sorry
3 only Sean pertwee would do for me
4 the impressionist chap (name escapes me at mo)
5 Marc Warren?
6. Tricky one this as its my fave doc but the brilliant Colin Baker just looks too old ill come back to this one

Culshaw
OP - I'll have a think!;)
Didn't make myself clear sorry, not an anniversary idea per se just curiosity on my part as to people's idea as to who they would cast, I personally don't like multi doctor episodes but a story where there is a linking element to all docs possibly requiring flashbacks could work in my opinion.
Patrick Troughton (2) = David Troughton?
I have put a quick list together of actors I think could play the Doctors in “The Eleven Doctors”.
1.Bill Nighy,
2.Eddie Izzard
3.Anthony Head
4.Benedict Cumberbatch
5.James McAvoy
6.Clive Owen
7. Martin Freeman
8.Paul McGann
9.Christopher Eccleston
10.David Tennant
11.Matt Smith
12.Chiwetel Ejiofor (If there is a regeneration)
This, and although Jon Culshaw could do Tom's voice if he didn't appear for whatever reason, it would be a massive insult to ignore the others just because they're getting older.
As for the Star Trek film, I'm still ambivalent about the younger actors. Kirk, Spock and McCoy (can't remember all the actors' names) have the mannerisms down uncannily but they're still just 'not really' younger versions of the origlnal, and Scotty, Sulu, Uhura and Chekov don't come close..
Wasn't the first doctor, Hartnell, replaced by another actor for The Five Doctors because he died? Wouldn't that be precedent enough?
Richard Hurndall
I've said it before, but I could see Richard Wilson portraying the first Doctor. If, as Moffat seems very keen to do recently, we're looking more and more back to the roots of the story and the doctors early days, I think it would people would be willikng to accept the re-casting of No.1 in order to either show the early days of the doctor and delve into his history.
David Troughton and Sean Pertwee would have to be the automatic choices for second and third. Rather than recasting for the sake of it, this would be seen as fitting tributes to their respective fathers.
I think that is an insult to the living Doctors if their parts were recast. It is supposed to be an Anniversary, where you look back at the past and celebrate what has happened. Those Doctors and their Era's need to be celebrated even if they don't appear. It would be totally pointless to recast a living Doctor as it means we can't pay tribute to their time in the show.
All The Doctors, living or dead, will be pretty much the focus of all the media attention as the Anniversary gets closer, we already have the stamps. I don't see the point of recasting those still with us yet celebrating them outside the programme itself. I just find the whole idea ridiculous, with all due respect.
DALEKS? I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
2. Hugh Lawrie
3.Kenneth Branagh
4. Alan Rickman
5. Cillian Murphy
6. Hugh Bonneville
Michael as Pat
Sean as Jon
David Bradley as 1 - he does grumpy but he can also turn on the charm - and he's a great actor
Matt Smith as 2 - obviously
Sean Bean as 3 - craggy - not too handsome or too macho - but bags of sex appeal
Christopher Ecclestone as 4 - border-line psycho with flashing smile
Marc Warren as 5 - gentle charm
Rupert Grint as 6 - watch Deathly Hallows - he does that sulky, angry insanity very well
Martin Freeman as 7 - can look vacant and inoffensive then suddenly act determined and smart
Matthew Goode as 8 - handsome, macho but also gentle - very talented actor
That has got to be one of the most superb casting ideas I've ever seen.
If Mr Moffat is snooping on this forum, then this!
