To save time i thought i'd put all the predictable posts in one complete post:

    Sean Connery - end thread

Daniel Craig isn't really Bond and the films aren't really Bond films.

    George Lazenby was rubbish.

    Roger Moore did too many.

    Timothy Dalton - who?

Pierce Brosnan only made one good film - Goldeneye.

There, i think that covers it - end thread.

Roger Moore was "my bond" as he was the one that I watched growing up but tbh I really liked them all. I think Daniel Craig is doing very well as a modern version of how Sean Connery portrayed Bond. With Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan they never struck you as cold blooded killers, but with Craig and Connery you imagine they would spends days laying a ditch just to put a bullet in someones head.

    :D

Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton are my favorites. Both played a more gritty, realistic bond.

Timothy Dalton, really wish he'd made more. The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill were my first plays from the new Blu-ray boxset.

For me it is Timothy Dalton. His films are gritty but also feel like Bond films at the same time (gadgets, jokes, Moneypenny/Q). I also feel that Dalton most resembled the Bond from Flemming's books, while for me Craig has the grittiness but does not resemble the actual character at all. I do have a soft spot for Roger Moore and watch his films if I want a light hearted film.

    Lazenby.

Picture him when I read Fleming, although Craig is elbowing his way past.

    Connery/Moore.

The film with Lazenby was very odd, I thought it was a **** take.

    Can't recall much of Dalton.

    Brosnan was okay, nothing spectauclar.

Craig is a bit too hench to play Bond.

Is October 5th going to be Bond Day every year from now on?

    Anyway...

It has to be Connery for the number one for me.

I do like Dalton shame he only got two outings.

Of all, Craig is my least favourite. I can't take to him, in any role, least of all as Bond.

How can 'OHMSS' be a ****take as it follows the novel more closely than any other Bond film?!

Yes that comment was rather odd.
People dismiss OHMSS because of it being Lazenby's only film when it's by far one of the better films.
If you were going to call any a pisstake it would be Die Another Day.

I may be unusual but my favourite now is:

    - Craig

    The next are:
    - Connery
    - Brosnon
    - Moore/Dalton
    ...
    - Lazenby

I remember the late Desmond Llewelyn once answering this question as whoever you saw first. And that is very true. I grew up watching Roger Moore and Sean Connery playing the part and for me they are the definitive Bonds. Everything else afterwards just seems lacklustre.
