Well, if you think anyone in the charts is the best, you are not looking properly. I would like to suggest Jo Harman is...who?? Go check her out....debut album is out next week, if you have any interest in proper songs...soul, gospel, blues, rock tinged...she writes them as well as sings them...I haven't heard a better female singer for a while...Jo is right up there with the likes of Adele for sure.

This is the kind of album that is crying out to be played on Radio Two...I mean, Emilie is 'ok' but she can't compare to Jo to be honest...and Jo widdles all over the pop singers out there right now.
I bet this thread gets very little interest sadly...but if you want to find real proper UK talent, go and have a listen.

I like Paloma actually, very talented.
I agree with you guys.
Yes I know there are ones who are technically better than her but she is my fave.
Kristina Train (folk/easy listening/jazz), Adele (popular rock-soul), Leona Lewis (high register), Florence (strength), Lianne La Havas (tone), Emeli Sande (live perofrmance - pitch); Laura Mvula (bluessy-soul); Rumer (easy listening/jazz)
I agree
So do I.
She may be sadly passed but she wipes the floor with every UK female artist alive today. Her spirit is here and will continue to be.
