God, I hope Emma Watson's smugness doesn't ruin this for me.

It's one of my favourite books. I wouldn't usually be looking forward to an adaptation, but with Stephen Chbosky writing and directing, I have a glimmer of hope. I'm guessing the soundtrack will be pretty special too.
I think the character of Sam has been so miscast.

When is the film released?
It's got a 2012 release, but no specific UK date yet.
Me too.

Sounds like good news, though. The book is my absolute favourite.
I'm worried about Emma Watson's casting though, I really am. I like her as Hermione, but shes nothing like what I imagined for Sam, and the trailer hasn't pulled me in. Ezra Miller is completely different to the Patrick I imagined too actually. But Logan as Charlie? Perfect.
BUT I will be checking out this movie, it does have promise since Chbosky is writing and directing, maybe it'll change my perspective.
Definitely worth seeing even if you don't like Emma Watson. Logan and Ezra are both great actors.
I really enjoyed it and would see it again. We missed the beginning, though probably only about 5 or 10 minutes. We thought that we had timed it perfectly.
It has a great soundtrack too! I still have "Heroes" by David Bowie in my head.
She is in flashbacks.
I had read the book beforehand but I totally forgot that
That's a big plot line to forget about!
