Thanks Mark ... the local touch does help. It just always feels terrifying when I get off the train! ha ha! Just need to remember that I have to buy tickets elsewhere before I get on a bus!
If you travel here more than a few times a year, I'd recommend you getting an Oyster card.
The fares are about half of what a cash fare is.
Sorry to hijack thread but how much credit would you recommend to put on an oyster card for a couple of days in London? Going to be in mainly zone 1 and 2.
Thanks

The cost of using your Oyster in a single day is capped at the price of a one-day travecard for those zones.
I would recommend to the OP what everyone else has said. Get an oyster card, and top-up £10 on it (not sure if that's gone up recently). It'll cost £1.40 for a bus there, and £1.40 bus back.
clarribo: I would top-up with £20 and then buy a travelcard on it for Zones 1-2 if you're going around stations multiple times in the same day. It's just for the peace of mind. Although if you didn't, you wouldn't get charged any more than £8.40 for the day as it'll cap the spending to what a travelcard would be.
You can also use a debit or credit card on the bus if it has the contactless sign on it.. wave and pay some cards call it. You then get the fare at the oyster price.
Euston station to The Angel, (where Pentonville Rd. ends), goes about £6.00 - £7.60 in a black cab between 06.00 and 20.00 Monday to Friday, if your destination is Kings Cross end of Pentonville Rd. then it will be cheaper.

It's not far and isn't a difficult journey.
Although to be accurate, it depends on your exact destination, as Pentonville Road is quite long.

Euston to the start of Pentonville Road is about 500 metres and Euston to Angel is about 1500 metres
In his heyday Seb Coe would have done it in under 4 minutes............
