Who has seen this? Is it any good? Even though i had never seen it i saw the complete collection on sale for a tenner in one of those second hand shops so i thought i'd buy it! I watched the first episode some months ago and then haven't been able to motivate myself to return to it. Is it worth making the effort for?:)

I think the third series is the funniest, especially the storylines involving Kurt and Brian

    Is it a comedy or a comedy/drama?

I suppose the first series is more of a comedy/drama, it is a bit silly at times e.g. a donkey randomly popping up in the background :p

I'd describe it as a sitcom. I like it, definitely worth sticking with in my opinion

    I don't understand these threads.
Obviously someone liked it at the time, it made it past the first series.
Whether you'll like it is down to you.

I liked it, got a bit weak, lost it's spark near the end.
    Not that, that helps you.

I thought it was ace. Kurt and Brian alone were worth the tenner!

I absolutely loved some of the things the kids would be getting up to in the background if it was a scene involving teachers walking casually through the school chatting. I think one was escorting an Ostrich even. Used to always make me laugh out loud.

Without a doubt, the most realistic series about school/teaching.

If I was a teacher, I'd be insulted that anyone thinks the profession is anything like that... but there's probably a ring of truth to it too!

Most of the teachers on the show are completely unprofessional - the perennially adolescent dossers who've ended up in education because they had no idea what else to do, leading a dreary, banal existence that is only spiced up by banter, alcohol and pathetic bouts of sex. It's a bit like The Inbetweeners for adults at times, but with more of a dramatic side.

I loved Teachers too, I think probable S2 was my favourite, I did miss the Simon, Kurt and Brian dynamic when Simon left. Interesting to see the actors that played Brian and Kurt reunited in A Touch of Cloth which was on recently

Teachers was brill... However, series 4 was the equivalent of Rocky V... you just don't mention it and try to forget that it ever existed.

I liked the first couple of series. Didn't bother with series 3, but then watched series 4 because my old clubbing mate Lee Williams was cast in it.

I once went on a blind date with a guy who was a teacher and I mentioned this show. He got really upset and ranted about how it was terrible and gave a really bad impression of teachers and gave teaching a bad name. Funnily enough, we didn't make it to a second date. :D

Loved teachers. Series 1 and 2 were the best series 3 ok and series 4 probably best forgotten although Matthew Horne seems to be doing well for himself now.

As a teacher I'm pleased to report that we really don't behave like that or at least not in my school! Highlights for me were the random animals in the playground, the way that they told you which day of the week it was and playing spot Kurt and Brian lookalikes in series 4.

Half the cast were reunited in Touch Of Cloth at the weekend, great to see Kurt and Brian again.

Kurt and Brian were the funniest thing ever. Loved Teachers. Always find it odd how Andrew Lincoln is always described as Egg from This Life, when I preferred him in this.

Was amusing to see Kurt, Susan and Brian in Touch of Cloth, spoofing it up, because I've seen them all in serious dramas since, and I can't take them seriously.

    Yes.

If series 4 was your first foray in to Teachers, then you would wonder what the fuss was about, as the better characters obviously jumped ship at the end of series 2/3.

Series 1 & 2 were consistent genius. Series 3 was one level below, then series 4 fell off the precipice. It was truly shocking and enormously disappointing.

I believe all 3(4) series are still available on 4OD, so you can check it out for yourself if you have a few days to spare.:D

    A brilliant show.

I think Andrew Lincoln left at the end of season 2 but returned for a few episodes in the third season.

Season 4 had a few good moments but the genius had gone.

Loved teachers it was brilliant. I also loved Kurt and Brian they were my favourite characters. I have to agree that series 4 was pretty awful,I didn't bother watching it all, it just wasn't teachers, the best characters weren't in it.
