thanks that means mine are gone
'Offence codes CU10 to CU80 must stay on a driving licence for four years from date of offence.'
but the insurance co say points in the last 5 years, why?!
They already have. They stay on your licence for 4 years.
Edit, amended as I was wrong.
So they can rip you off for an extra year with a driving offence that is legally expired.
I didn't bother. My paper copy still has the speeding offence from 2003.
So they can screw more money out of you.
lol !
I haven't bother either. But I was wondering, do you "have" to take the points off.
Is there a way of checking if the points are still on the "System".
No they don't, they just ask if you have had any convictions in the last 5 years.
It's the 3-4-5 rule: they're valid for 3 years for totting up purposes, have to stay on the licence for 4 years, and have to be declared as a conviction to insurance companies for 5.
(With a few exceptions)
