Is a BlackBerry that doesn't use BlackBerry's email service still a BlackBerry? Perhaps consumers may or may not want to ponder this dilemma.
If you are a Consumer with a BlackBerry 10 device it won't support the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). Instead, the devices will pick up their email directly, like any other smartphone, rather than rely on the BIS network. Ironically users of BlackBerry's business messaging service - BlackBerry Enterprise Server, or BES - are unaffected. Consumer accounts need to have a data plan and the email data usage will come out of that overall allowance. Not to mention data roaming costs if outside the country.
