Hopefully Ellie Goulding will get a nomination (probably in the Dance category) for Lights and possibly best new artist
I imagine Maroon 5 will get several as will Gotye, Taylor Swift and Rihanna. Luke Bryan's album has been big over there this year so I'm sure there will be something in there for him
As long as One Direction, Bieber, Chris Brown and Carly Rae Jepson don't get nominations but I think that's wishful thinking
It's really open this year, unlike last year when everyone correctly predicted that Adele will win big.
Acts I expect will be nominated:
Definites: Mumford and Sons, Fun, Gotye, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift (for WNGBT - her album is not eligible), Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe. Coldplay/Rihanna for Princess of China. Maroon 5 in the pop categories and Lionel Richie's crossover country album.
Slightly left-field choices: Miguel, the Lumineers, Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar, possibly Ed Sheeran (for the "alternative" category)
Outside chance: Bieber, Lana Del Rey, One Direction. If 1D get nominated I think it'll be for best pop duo/group performance for WMYB. Possibly best new artist, but it's a very good year for new artists with the likes of Gotye, Frank Ocean etc.
Some categories have been dropped, but all the big ones are still there, I think.
Very true, it is open with Adele not being a big contender.
I think this year's big contenders will be Frank Ocean, Lana del rey and Coldplay. Coldplay are no strangers to the grammys and Lana and Frank's music hasn't been the most commericial music of this year but their work is very grammy worthy and are more likely to be appreciated
I think Ed sheeran may be a dark horse at the grammys as well
Would like to see nominations from Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna and Florence as well.
I'd put money on Fun. getting at least four noms, if not a couple more. I've been following them for three or four years now and I'm so excited to see them get their dues.
And the nominees for Record Of The Year are…
The Black Keys, "Lonely Boy"
Kelly Clarkson, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)"
Fun. Featuring Janelle Monáe, "We Are Young"
Gotye Featuring Kimbra, "Somebody That I Used To Know"
Frank Ocean, "Thinkin Bout You"
Taylor Swift, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"
And the nominees for Best Country Solo Performance are …
Dierks Bentley, "Home"
Eric Church, "Springsteen"
Ronnie Dunn, "Cost Of Livin'"
Hunter Hayes, "Wanted"
Blake Shelton, "Over"
Carrie Underwood, "Blown Away"
Rihanna got 3 nominations (though one is for Short Form Video, so the directors/producers are credited for that award), Carly Rae Jepsen got 2 nominations - one for Song of the Year!!!

Anyone watching the concert? It's a strange beast, a show announcing nominations with some major performers.

I go to bed with a broken heart
Shame that Lana didn't get anything. Oh well.
Thought Gotye might get more noms than he did.
Mumford and Sons in the Rock category?
Justin and 1D got snubbed in everything. Those poor teen girls are gonna be crying tonight.
