No - because less people watch tv in general, a lot less for EE specifically, I believe and there is also the fact that whilst many are rather curious as to what Branning has been bonked, I highly doubt anyone truly gives a shit...
That was what 30.1m Programes just don't get ratings like that now. EastEnders got 16.6m for the LIVE episode but that was due to a big reveal of a storyline that had gripped the nation and also went LIVE for the first time.
The Kat's reveal is going out on the Last Thursday of late night shopping before xmas.
Fridays episode goes out against TEXT SANTA (a charity event with a lot of stars including 1D and Cast of Corrie) so that will dent it anyway.
As dan2008 said no its just not got the same drive and power, it being dragged out for so long has gone against it, plus most have guessed who it is so there is no surprise and I think a lot of would actually be looking more forward to Alfie growing a pair and chucking Kat out then the actual reveal, I'm kind of surprised the revealed episode is as early as it is.
The Angie and Den divorce episode was in the 80s were the soap was new and fresh and there was only a few channels and not a lot of choice I believe, now days we are spoil on what can watch and the way we watch it.

I do think the ratings will see a bump but that's all. I think Next Monday however will see EastEnders figures rise by quite a bit but that's down to xmas and the big storylines running.
I think it'll definitely surpass Sharon-gate for classic reveal.
I think the reveal will be fantastic tbh. Fridays episode looks brilliant and Simon Ashdown has written it and knows Alfie and Kat well. He's written some good episodes for them in the past.
Sharon-Gate was outstanding though and such an iconic soap storyline.
