It's very weird. I keep expecting it to turn into a comedy spoof.

It has Paul Marquess' name on it too. Can't see it lasting beyond it's first run to be honest.

I agree. Is just weird. I think they should bring back The Bill instead of making this rubbish!

    The acting is awful.

    Just tuned into this.

Not really sure about this at all

Do they have a script or are they just making it up as they go along?

The pieces to camera are a bit weird too

The acting so far has been quite mediocre and the 'documentary' elements aren't at all convincing. Had it dropped the documentary bits and just been an outright drama, I suspect this could've been very good. It's not bad though.

I think this would have worked much better as an actual drama. I'm not minding it as it's a bit different, but it's hard to get used to.

    Its all a bit strange....

You've got the normal drama bit, then you've got them speaking to the camera whilst they're doing the drama bit and then there's the peace to camera whilst they're not doing the drama bit.....

Definitely. The way it's shot like a documentary makes It look too 'real', it's a very odd style and as someone else said it feels like it would suit a spoof comedy.

A filmic look would provide a quick fix to give it more of a drama feel.

I thought Anya was going to punch the cameraman when she shoved that piece of paper towards us :D

I'm quite enjoying it as its something of a departure for afternoon tv. Nice to see Derek Wilton getting a bit of work...haven't seen him for years.

From the makers of the Bill.. all actors apart from the woman detective who is in fact a recently retired real ex Chief Superintendant of the Manchester police and model for the show Scott and Bailey set in her old Major Incident Team. She is not an actress at all. A script was created only in outline for each scene and then ad libbed throughout to make it seem 'real'. It was an intererting experiment - very Crown Court like I thought,

Jane Antrobus, the real detective in it, says that this was the only real compromise for obvious TV reasons. But she was there to help ensure that it otherwise followed police procedures.
