Is it time for a Morbidly Obese Doctor?

With the show's increasing popularity in the US, perhaps this is the ideal opportunity to give them a hero they (and increasingly, British audiences) can really identify with?

Think about it, it'd be ground-breaking!

Literally!

I've always felt there was WAY too much running down corridors, anyway.

Perhaps this Doctor could have a Sonic Mobility Scooter?!

Casting ideas?

It'd make filming those scenes where they come out of the Tardis quite difficult.

And it would mean the TARDIS would no longer look bigger on the inside.

No thanks. For the simple reason that the regeneration sequence would be.. ah... well... RIP waistcoat and trouser buttons. ._.

None of you are taking this idea seriously. Why not? Is the idea of a big fat Doctor so ridiculous?

Think of all the issues it would clear up. There's the unpopular romance aspect for starters. Fat people are unlovable. Problem solved!

Also, many fans have grown tired of the Doctor's supposed mopey ol dark side. Fat people are really jolly. Problem solved!

I think this makes a terrific amount of sense.

NO!! I loved Richard Griffiths in 'Pie in the Sky' -- that suited him to a tee! But can you imagine someone like that running down corridors a-la Doctor Who? NO!
I'm somewhat 'large' at the moment, so I'm not having a go at people like me.......I just think the Doctor should be FIT not FAT! Let's keep it to what viewers want!

Perfectly possible for a fat man to be fit.

What if he wore Plus-Size Roller skates and Clara towed him around everywhere with a Skipping Rope?

It could be his trademark entrance. Like TV's Kramer!

First of all the topic is about obese people. Not all obese people are really fat.

As for the second and third line I don't know if you are serious (I hope you aren't) but that is not true for all fat people.

The whole thread is about making stereotypical comments about overweight and obese people.

Well I find it hard to judge when someone is joking. Yes I could tell your comment was a joke but I honestly thought you were serious about fat people cannot be fit.

Not if they are 'morbidly obese'. Which is what the op asked.

Kind of why it's called morbidly obese...

Morbidly obese people can find love. I cannot believe the rubbish that is being said on this thread. May as well call it stereotypical views of obese people.
