Would this solve the whole "female Doctor" debate? With both Torchwood and SJA now over, a DW spin off is sorely needed! So how about a female Time Lord as the lead? Could it work?

Also, I doubt that it's something that would change the minds of people who wish for a female Doctor, it's a bit like no, you're not getting that, but have this secondary character instead.
but we would also need a black one, a disabled one, a jewish one, etc etc
Not easy now that Sammy Davies Jnr is dead . . .
There's also Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter out there somewhere
I'd certainly like to see it and it seems the only compromise between those who want a female Doctor and those who emphatically don't.
I think Gillian Anderson would be excellent in such a role.
If we do get another DW spin-off, it'll probably be a Paternoster Gang one.
Use Romana, she is stuck in E-Space right?
Books, Audio and RTD (in a written article on the Time War) had her returning to Gallifrey and becoming President.
Lalla Ward was asked to do something (presumably by RTD since Moffat says he hasn't considered bringing the character back) on NuWho but turned it down.
