Most of what they say is drivel, though. You'd think they were getting paid a wage.
Have you seen the anti consumer policies?
Just asking man. sheesh.
I wouldn't buy it. It's an anti consumer device which is forcing many restrictions on you.
I hope you can get an internet connection under your rock
This is what cliffy B (guy who makes gears of war xbox game) thinks about the people complaining about the internet requirement-

..and electricity right?....
That's the one thing I will miss from my 360... My live profile. Got an Xbox at launch, got a 360 at launch, and I love them both. At the moment I have a ps4 pre ordered with amazon, but I still feel strange leaving my xbox's...
People are really making too much of a big deal out of this. Now you have to pay to play online regardless of console, most games now have strong online focus, even for single player games. It's not hard to understand the direction of the next-gen. To be perfectly honest Microsoft were the only company at E3 that had the balls to offer a true Next-gen vision.

Don Mattrick is a former game developer (of one of my favourite 8/16-bit games no less), unlike Mr Tretton. There's so much bias and hate out there but the reality is MS give as much of shit about gamers as Sony, to say otherwise means you are falling for the PR bullshit. Of course there are high up execs that only care about profits and control but there are many, many people working within BOTH companies at all levels that do care about gamers, if that wasn't the case we wouldn't be seeing the amazing line-up that we are for the next gen.
I'm sure I read you need 1.5 mb minimum - jim sterling was talking about it
I just gave you a link with a MS rep telling us otherwise.
It has been confirmed that you can use tethering to do the 24hour checks on even really slow connections.
I fail to see how you can say the Xbox is good for consumers. The electricity argument is invalid. My Xbox 360 requires electricity but it doesn't require the internet just to be able to play a game. We have multiplayer games on the 360 as well. But it's optional. I'm not forced to play the multiplayer aspect of battlefield 3. There is a single player mode as well.
Would you guys be defending apple if they introduced DRM back into their music. Made it so you could only use it on ipods, and then made it so you had to connect to the internet to play your music no matter where you were.
I just want to talk about games and features the next gen consoles will have, something you seem to be unable to do. In fact, looking back at your posting history i fail to see any positive gaming posts from you at all? They all seem to be digs at either the Xbox one or people that are planning to buy one.
I do prefer the xbox 360 to the ps3 yes, if that makes me an employee of Microsoft or a 'fanboy' as you seem to love calling people, then so be it.
The electricity argument is perfectly relevant as it's a bill that is required to make use of these machines. The internet is another one that we ALL (as in every one of us with an opinion on the internet) already pay for and make use of for our current machines. It's not 2001 anymore and internet is stable, most parts of the UK have reliable and fast fibre optic connections.
I will defend consumer rights all the way and you have the right to choose what you buy. Both Sony and MS are offering different visions, go for what suits you and stop worrying about what anyone else is thinking. All this jumping on the backs of people who are not put off by the requirements for X1 and implying they are fanboys or working for MS is utterly ridiculous.
