Then why have you made the effort to come on a Geri Halliwell thread which has clearly got this far as a fan discussion. There are a few celebs im not fans off but i cant think of anything more pathetic than to waste my time and complain about them. Some of us have better things to do with our time.

This isn't a fan thread. If you want one of those, start one with that in the title. Otherwise, it's a thread for people to comment about Geri and offer any opinion they like.
Personally, I think grown adults being obsessed with a kiddy band that split more than a decade ago is pretty strange but each to their own

Maybe its just me but i wouldnt wanna come online and slag of celebs. And i grew up with The Spice Girls i was a kid then but they were not just for kids. They made history and have reformed and have alot of fans still but im actually more into Geri's solo music. I like all the girls. Also i did start a Geri thread a while ago fans only please and still had backlash. This thread now has one on to like 6 pages so i think fans are more important than no fans

None of that gives you the right to tell other people what they can and cannot post. And as DS relies on us coming on here and giving our opinion, whether you like it or not, I am not sure that the mods will appreciate your demands.
If you only want to hear good things about your hero, then go to one of her fansites. Otherwise, you'll have to accept the fact that some people don't like her and have just as much right to express that as you have to idolise.

I dont like your response. I'M not telling people what they can & cant do. I'M just stating that i dont understand why some people wanna waste there time slagging celebs off, Thats why i put maybe its me. But i thought this is now on page 6 & didnt think people would wanna moan about Geri.

It doesn't matter what page it's on, people have a right to their opinion - whether it you like it or not.
I don't understand your hero worship of her. I don't try and diminish you because of it.

How would you define a group as a "kiddy band"? Yes, lots of kids liked them, perhaps mostly girls. It's interesting that heavy metal bands, for instance, which are often very popular with teenage boys, are never called "kiddy bands".
Further, this thread is about one former member of the Spice Girls, not the band as a whole, so how long ago they split seems irrelevant.

But that's what we do here!
Anyway, this isnt an appreciation thread. We are allowed to give our opinion on geri halliwell.
Lady Gaga:"I was 13 when the Spice Girls were really really big and whenever we would do talent shows at school, I would always be Ginger. Things came full circle because I got to meet her, it was really exciting. She told me that she was 24 when she first started too."
Robbie Williams (This month after singing Eternity in Leeds): "That was written about the lovely Geri Halliwell. She's had her knockers hasn't she... Actually she's a f*cking good friend. She's great to hang out with and I send Geri all my love. I'm sure that'll make its way through Twitter and twatter.."
George Clooney:"She was always my favorite Spice Girl; I loved her feisty approach and the fact she wasn't afraid to have an opinion. Her work with Unicef and (sexual health charity) Marie Stopes in the Third World was inspiring. And her address at a UN Youth summit in 2000 was brave - it's so easy to not get involved and she just gritted her teeth and went for it."
Barbara Walters:"Geri Halliwell and The Spice Girls burst onto the scene in 1996 ...they were the biggest British invasion since the Beatles... but from the beginning Geri was the Spice that stood out. When I sat down with her for high tea, she was conservatively dressed and not at all what I expected."
Piers Morgan:"Geri is a global icon. A flawed one, a complicated one and a mischievous little minx. From Watford to Hollywood - she is one of the most iconic women of the last two decades."
Alan Carr:"She was so boring[backstage at The FNP]. I think all that LA sunshine has gone to her head. She was all astrology this, and astrology that. I get bored just talking about it."
"The Olympics and Paralympics finally came to an end [this week]...If I had to pick one moment that summed up the sheer will to overcome a disibility it would have to be Geri Halliwell going for a high C in the Spice Girls Medley at the Closing Ceremony. Good for you, Geri!"
Adele:"I was the biggest Spice Girls fan ever. They were my life - they still are! Best band ever. Geri was my favorite but then she broke my heart and left so now Mel B is my favorite."
Original Spice Girls 'manager' and recently sacked X Factor Consultant Chris Herbert:"After missing the initial audition stages, she came in when we were already down to the final 12 as bold as brass. She bounced into the room, just gave us some cheeky line and won us over with personality alone."
Regarding his time 'managing' the group: "Behind the scenes she had been convincing the other girls that they needed to take a faster route to get there. I heard that she had taken one of the demo tapes and stuck it down her knickers as a means to smuggle it out and that's Geri, that's the kind of thing she would do."
Regarding subsequent success: "She drew from the preceding Pop Queens before her and as a result took the crown from them and now owns that 90's pop era."
George Clooney:"She was always my favorite Spice Girl; I loved her feisty approach and the fact she wasn't afraid to have an opinion. Her work with Unicef and (sexual health charity) Marie Stopes in the Third World was inspiring. Geri is the type of person who you find amusing or utterly irritating.
She doesn't bother me, I respect her for the drive she gave the Spice Girls which is evident giving that they slowly dwindled out after her departure.
Her solo career had promise at first and she released some really good solo singles but the fact her voice isn't very strong went against her having longevity as a popular solo act.

Celebrity opinions on Geri Halliwell: Part One.
Frankie Boyle: "The only way I want to see Geri Halliwell draped in a union flag again is if she dies in battle."

I'll just leave this here...
Until she opened her mouth.
She could bring tears to a glass eye.
