See the See the Strictly Salsa thread and post music that you would suggest dancing AT to.
Don't try to be inclusive by adding pop chart music.
My AT is still pretty poor but I'll try and have a go.
Any suggestions?

But will read with interest.
Milonga
Tango
Vals
But its more of a question. At the milongas I go to they have lately been playing a nouveau tango trackwhich reminds me of the Gorillaz track. Any idea what that is?
(A rather off the wall start I fear!)
I'm not a Gorillaz fan but it could be something by Bajafondo or Gotan?
[Moving out of the way on hearing rushing sound of DOTs to the k/b to google and youtube "Tanga"]
Tango - Caminito

Libertango

We sometimes dance to this flamenco music by Bebo&Cigala which I really like

Thanks for starting this by the way.
Yep thats the one! Thanks. See this thread has paid for itself already.
Thanks Sofakat. All of them are new to me
I can see why. New to me as well. Brilliant. Wonderful. Thanks a lot. A touch of the Gotan to it. I'm going to get the CD.
Watching SCD and being on this forum has paid off just for that track suggestion
I didn't know the first one its lovely but it has that uality about it that I have mixed feelings about. In part it makes me feel i am in down town Buenos Aires XX years ago and I kind of like the old world feel. But at the same time part of me is desperate to hear a remastered version.
Libertango I know - says molinete to me!
Track 3 is lovely. Hadn't heard it but have danced to flamenco inspired music. Remembering this reminded me of a tango version of Besame Mucho which is a favourite song of mine with or without dance.
Thanks a lot Spin
I love Xavier Cugat but a pity about the sound quality on the youtube. Here is a good quality version that I have.
PLACIDO DOMINGO en Concierto "CAMINITO"
Libertango is another classic. Great video. Love the cello.
Just discovered this. Not usually keen on latin music in English but this is good.
Grace Jones - Libertango
I'll have to get some tango lessons again.and frequent Milongas
Hey I've always wanted a pair of co-respondent shoes but never brave enough to buy a pair. I'll just have to say they are Tango shoes. Would that work?
Hey I have the Lagrimas Negras CD by Bebo Valdés / Dieguito El Cigala but haven't played it for a while. Will put it in the car. Never associated it with Tango though.
Here's a Rumba Flamenca version I've just discovered
Arturo Fuerte - Besame Mucho
I prefer to listen to the words. - if sung with power. There are a lot of wishy washy versions.
Placido Domingo - Besame mucho
Oh this poncey ChaCha dance is what I don't like about watching a lot of ballroom dancing. All that mincing about by the bloke puts me right off the genre.
Besame Mucho Chacha
On the other hand this is good - but not an AT so thread drift.

I like the Grace Jones link. And good to see some updated links for Caminito. I've just realised that the majority of my CDs are 1930s to 50s. Guess I'd better get up to date.
Can't advise on men's shoes I'm afraid. I'd have thought they'd pass muster though.
My tango teacher used to translate some of the words to the songs as we danced. Sorry but sometimes I had to laugh. Often so melodramatic.
Jacob Gade - Jalousie
And a modern one that might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like it:
Elizabeth Fraser - Moses
(links now fixed!)
Thanks to the Oblivion link.
Here's a much better Grace Jones version. new to me but I'm impressed.
I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango) - Grace Jones
That would be good for SCD. Louis could relate to it perhaps.
Maybe even for a guest artist - with Flavia and Vincent dancing.
Thanks. Never heard (or heard of) Vaya con Dios before. Some good stuff from the Belgian group I see from youtube.
Jalousie / Jealousy is a classic
Elizabeth Fraser - Moses is modern. I like it. Thanks.
If I were to link Wiemar Republic and Argentine Tango together would it sound crazy?
London After Midnight - Demon
Wow Wicked track I'm loving it
Olé Guapa (1937)
Guapito (1940)
Don Juan
Thanks. It's one of my favourites.
Very SCD. Not for me I am afraid.
Thanks. Never heard of them. Are these more ballroom / bandstand tango than street AT? Not really my style of AT music. I prefer something gutsy rather than sweet.
Vaya Con dios - Paris
Jalousie - 1930's Warsaw Ghettos
Oblivion - A park somewhere (maybe New York) and its raining.
Is it time for my medicine?
