Sorry if there is a thread on this already, but an article of Den of Geek has caught my scrupulous attention.

It says that the episode will have a "post library River." This throws up interesting questions on how she survived it, plus I always assumed we'd meet a pre library River as she knew the Doctor's name before.

But you might wanna change your title, some might see it as a spoiler.
Sorry... *facepalm*
I suppose it could be argued that with all we know now the ultimate fate in the library is somewhat cruel considering Rivers nature. Would she really be happy existing in what amounts to a dream world with a country house and gardens and two kids to look after? Maybe CAL had the power to generate more than that and River could still go galavanting around but yeah...not a great existence if you think about it too much.
If River's body is damaged then downloaded into a replacement made of "Flesh".
Nuh, To think that someone with Rivers personality would be satisfied to sit in a computer the rest of her life and not make an attempt to resurrect her self would undermine her character. Or to think that the Doctors who plan was just to download her into a computer kind of undermines him as a character.
And the fact that we had an episode where Clara was downloaded into a computer and recovered along with lots of other people..
It doesn't undo anything. All we've seen so far is pre-Library River - same as she ever was.
Ugh that's gotta be it, it's so cruel and evil and so moffat like, he has to destroy his wife, even tho virtual, her mind, in a way to stop the GI .. Man I hope it's not true but it seems that could work.
I've dedicated my life to stating that every female character that appears is The Rani... one day I will be correct
You watch, the Rani will be in a male regeneration if she ever reappears...
Then could that mean that
She could come out of the library computer with River, be copied, and sent to multiple parts of the Doctors past timeline as a warning.
CAL called herself a CLEVER girl, Clara's always calling the Doctor a CLEVER boy....
It's a nifty idea. And it makes as much sense as Clara being a starship entertainment officer trapped in a Dalek or a Victorian governess.
I really hope not. Then we'll have - yet again - another companion linked to River.
And why is that a bad thing? Surely it links the current mythology.
But she is a human/timelady hybrid, she could live for hundreds or thousands of years.
She stopped the universe and died out of love for the Doctor. I don't think she could or should just walk away from him
It just seems to be an annoying theme with Doctor Who. In the RTD era, everything was linked to Rose - Bad Wolf, Torchwood, mentions during Martha's time, Rose coming back in series four.
I didn't actually mind that much because Rose was a likeable enough character.:p
Moffat's era has the reoccurring theme of River, the most annoying part being we've already seen how she goes so we can't look forward to closure.
Not to mention the character of River is extremely annoying and the whole 'married' thing is irritating.
Clara is amazing, in my opinion, and if she links back to River, that's my hope for Moffat shattered. It's so refreshing having a new companion with no baggage (with previous links to other characters, I mean) and I really, really hope Moffat doesn't ruin it.
In what reality was this? I'm sure not the one that I live in.
Shame.
