True Blood - Season 6 (US Pace)

I didn't see one for the new season, so I decided to set one up instead.

As for an opening episode, we've had better ones but this was an improvement on most of the last season to be honest.

I'm not sure where they're going with Bill but I am genuinely interested in finding out though.

He could've killed everyone in this episode and chose not to, though I'm sure Lilith might have something to say about that.

Jessica choosing Bill over everyone else did make some sense though. I like their dynamic, especially in this one.

Can Pam please just shut the hell up though? Throughout this episode, she tested my resolve and I'm glad the likes of Nora, Eric and Tara put her in her place a few times as well.

Tara standing up to Pam is great. Pam needs someone to call her out on her crap a lot, doesn't she?

Jason largely annoyed me in this episode as well, though the Warlow reveal was nicely done, if too obvious. What did he place on that parchment by Sookie's bed?

Good for Eric for giving Sookie back her house but I don't blame her for uninviting him though. Nora would probably not be wise to interfere too much with Sookie/Eric though.

Alcide, love the character but his storyline this week was boring and Rikki needs more developing as a character too.

Governor Burrell is an interesting character. Looking forward to seeing where they go with him this season as well.

Not remotely shocked that Luna died or Andy's kids magically aged either.

Nice scene with Lafayette, Sam and Emma too, 8/10.

    I enjoyed Alcides behind ;)

When that is the highlight of the episode you know somethings wrong...it was poor imo

really good start, I hope it gets better because last season was just awful with all the authority and lilith nonsense. The characters are all on top form, can't wait to see how Bill and Jess turn out. I don't think we have seen Warlow yet, I didn't spot him in this episode? I will have to watch it again, there is a lot going on, still can't believe what Sookie did to Bill wow

I was scathing about the last Series, utterly hated it, so I'm hoping for a better Series this time and a return to form. Will be watching it tonight, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Season 5 was better than 4 and 3 IMO

I watched it, I think I enjoyed it although towards the end I was surfing the net whilst watching it.

I was hoping Billith would walk in the day maybe he can? I dunno, would be cool seeing him walk into Merlottes during the day, especially since that senator bloke said 'we own the day'. I thought it was foreshadowing for bill to day walk. Could still be I spose.

It was so obvious the driver was warlow lol, I saw that a mile off. But still nice reveal. And the character looks pretty good well acted too.

I liked Pam and Tara showing Pam some tough love in the way Tara does so well!! It's time Pam got over Eric who quite clearly doesn't give a shi.

Sookie was annoying as per. So bored of her fairy light crap.

Jessica is hot so no problems there,

No Hoyt in this episode after his turn to fang banging goth boy last year I'm kinda glad, what did happen to him last year? I forget or don't really care. Please don't him pair up with jess again.. Jeesh.

Glad Luna is dead, hope her daughter disappears off screen now, to many children in a soft porn show kind of makes me uneasy.

Andy was fun with his kids ageing over night lol and him accepting fatherhood was pretty cool. But still to many kids lol

And lastly I'm glad we only had one scene with Lafayette hope he is used sparingly this years!!

    7/10

I read some spoilers, Rutger seems to have two parts in this season, he could be Warlow but he also plays another character we all know and love from the books. Don't want to put in any spoilers but easy to check on good old google

Hoyt is working in Alaska on an oil rig, he sent Jason a postcard after Jess glamoured him to forget their relationship and Jason's betrayal of him. Jason drove him to the county line I think.

Lafayette needs more scenes. As does Sam.

Rutger just doesn't seem to age.

I enjoyed the opening episode. Bored to death with Alcide though. I just don't see where they are going to go with the werewolves

I thought it was a great opener. Loved the amount of Eric scenes...always makes for a good episode in my opinion!

Although, whilst I've always had a soft spot for Pam she managed to irritate the hell out of me after a while...bring back sarcastic, one liner, scene stealing Pam!

I find myself more intrigued about Bilith than I thought I would after last years Authority nonsense so that was a happy surprise :-)

    Overall good effort I thought!

Thought it was a pretty mediocre premiere if I'm honest, this show kinda went off the deep end last season and it doesn't look like it's going to be any better this year. They need to kill off a few of the more superfluous characters (e.g. Tara, who should have stayed dead) and focus the storylines more. Hopefully next season is the final one (I can't see them ending it this year with it's current ratings, it's dropped from last year but it's still a hit for HBO so I can't see them cancelling it anytime soon). I'll still watch it to the end after investing so much time in it, but it's well past it's prime now unfortunately.

Sort of agree with the above poster, it was okay, but not very good when compared to the earlier Series. Too many characters, with even more appearing in the form of kiddiwinkies, they need to kill off half the cast, starting with Pam and Tara, who are irritating beyond belief.

I think that True Blood's main problem has always been too many characters and too many plotlines.

Anyway... Anyone else thinking that they'll have to get Billith's help to deal with Warlow?

I enjoyed the opener but agree that there needs to be a culling of some of the characters. Beginning with the werewolves.

The opening episode for Season 6 got 4.5 million viewers, which is down from last season but still pretty good.

I don't think this season will be the last but next season could be though.

Bloody loved it, although I thought the naked lesbian werewolf scene was disgraceful and gratuitous.

Oh, and I was equally disgusted that Eric remained fully clothed for the whole episode.

Apart from that, welcome back True Blood! :)

7 does seem to be the magic number of US fantasy shows.
