Guess you didn't take the 'win all boss fights at the push of a button' typhoon upgrade then.
4 kings in dark souls for me. Got the hang of it in the end but they made me quit the entire game for months on new game plus when I couldn't beat them or find anyone to help.

That's probably exactly why he found it frustrating. If you happened to have gone down the route of "silent assassin," for your character, equipping them with biomods designed for stealth, then Barratt's appearance was one hell of a kick in the nuts. None of your abilities are worth shit and you end up sprinting wildly round the room tossing grenades in the hope that he will eventually just die.
The camera in the Jak and Daxter trilogy on PS Vita, you just can't beat it, it won't let you see the next jump, it will always turn away from enemies, it will do everything it can to piss you off
Serious answer, Honestly i'd have to go with the final boss on Ratchet and Clank, you have do to several waves in several areas and there are no ****ing check points, there is nothing more annoying that being one hit away from beating the game, only to fail and be sent back 10-15 minutes of game play

Yeah I can see how that'd suck. I did a loud and proud playthrough 1st killing everything in sight so I knew I'd still want the typhoon for my stealth run when I did that. It was very cheap though. Every single boss fight just came down to running up to the boss and setting the thing off till they died. 2-4 times depending on skill level.

Yeah, I went with the typhoon early on my second playthrough, just because of the frustration first time round and it was amusing how pathetically easy the bosses were!
Still, Namir was a joke even on my first play, as I just happened to have a grenade launcher with me. Two shots and he was dead before he'd even finished doing his "cool kick his gun into his hands," move. I've even seen a Youtube vid of a way you can just punch him in the face and kill him dead in one move!!
Not a boss, but the "Meat Circus" level right at the end of Psychonauts... grrr annoys me even thinking about it now. Bloody spiral jumpy thing. Never actually completed it either...

In the end after countless tries, yes, I had to restart from the beginning and make sure I had the typhoon, I was going for stealth and hacking on my first playthrough and when you come up against Barrett it all goes out the window. But it was just a badly designed boss fight, without the typhoon it was ridiculously hard, even on easy mode.

Yes, I found that at first, but then discovered the boss fights dont affect your bonuses, or the trophys associated with stealth/no deaths/no alarm/not being seen etc.
Didnt need typhoons though, just 4 frag mines(2 or 3 on easy) from behind the cover at the start of the fight..hes dead before he reaches you.
Toss up between Robert de Sable and Mael Radec, both are nightmare both took me ages to beat (days)
Not proud of this but I gave my cousin a bloody nose after he (probably deliberately) knocked out the power cable when I was on the third phase of the Radec boss fight, elite difficulty:mad::mad::mad:.
Needless to say when I finally did beat the barsteward, it made victory all the sweeter
Seriously though, Ridley in ones of the Wii metroid games.
It wasn't frustrating because it was difficult, I can handle that. What made it frustrating for me is when it's health gets low it goes into some sort of rage and becomes more difficult. BUT to get him to that stage was time consuming.
I wouldn't mind if it was difficult from the start but it's going through all that boring easy bit for 10 mins everytime before dying and having to go through it again.
There's probably one that frustrates me more but that one came to mind first.

I managed to take him out no problem. He got me the first time but took him down on second attempt. Still not used the typhoon even on my "Kill All Who Stand Before Me" runs.
Not so much a boss fight but coming face to face with a Tank sitting in the safe room when you're on really low health and most of the team is dead, can be a pain in the lower region.

I gave up. Still haven't completed it to this day. Not enough time for the boat to reach the chopper.

Sephiroth was a challenge way back when.
I didn't have any trouble with that, managed to do it a couple of times too.
Shiro from Guild Wars factions ( it's easy now looking back, but at the time I could have legit ragekilled somone)
I hate boss fights, so literally every single other one ever is my number 3.
