How long does it normally take for movies to be available on DVD?
I saw sunshine on Leith last night and the DVD would make a great xmas present for an English friend who adores Edinburgh
Thanks

It usually takes around five months for a film to get from cinema to DVD.
For example, "Argo" was released around the start of October last year, and was released at the start of March this year.
It will probably be released around February/March onto DVD, but the soundtrack is available now, if you would like the music on CD.

I'd imagine Sunshine on Leith will be released on DVD early next year, I certainly can't see it being released before Christmas as it was only released to cinemas the beginning of this month, plus the DVD isn't even listed on Amazon or Play.com yet.
