The Schindler's List topic inspired me to start this one.

Not many for me.....

Reservoir Dogs (3 times, first on my own, then twice with friends. I urged them to go and see it)

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (Once each in 1977 and 1997)

Schindler's List (Twice. On my own, then with friends)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Twice)

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Twice)

Sin City (Twice, on successive nights)

The Artist (Twice)

I can't see it happening again, though.

If I really like a film then often I'll see it twice, if I love it I may see it 3 times (usually with different people that I have encouraged to see the film) but my record stands with LOTR Fellowship of the Ring - saw it 7 times.

    Toy Story (twice)
Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me (3 times)
    Jingle All The Way (twice)
The Indian In The Cupboard (twice)

There wasn't much to do in our area in the mid-late 90's (and still isn't really) so going to the cinema to see the same film again was common with my group of friends, and with a 4 screen cinema we were spoiled for choice!

Rare that I do this, as it is more of an expense thing. Hence why I revisit a lot of films on TV and DVD, but there are a few exceptions :-

LA Confidential (3 times) - Once the first week of its release and twice in the second week. I think it was just to appreciate that a good film can be made in the Hollywood system, and that is why I went to it more than once.

Return of the Jedi (2 times) - Once in 1983 and the CGIed re-release in1997.

Empire Strikes Back (2 times) - Once in 1983(on a repeat theatrical run) and the CGIed version in 1997.

Inception (2 times) - Once the first week of its release and then a repeat viewing the following week. I think to appreciate the intricate storyline and also how that a film from the blockbuster sector can be intelligent as well.

I've seen THE ROOM six or seven times in a cinema.

I'd guess I've seen it 30+ times in total.

Numerous seen twice, in particular 'head jobs' (Lynch etc) that perhaps require a follow-up viewing to get a decent grip on them.

Winner is Eyes Wide Shut though. 4 times - solo, then twice with fellow students, then once with rather weary gf (unimpressed).

I don't watch a film at cinema more than once because of this one year:

    Space Travelers - seven times.
Rabu Retaa (Love Letter) - thrice.
    Battle Royale - four times.
Big Show! Hawaii ni Utaeba (Big Show! Let's Sing in Hawaii) - twice.

My older cousin had a massive crush on Takeshi Kaneshiro (Space Travelers) and Tarou Yamamoto (probably best known in the UK as Boy #5 a.k.a. Shogo Kawada in Battle Royale). She wouldn't go to cinema alone, so she dragged me along to all those screenings. The worst year of my teen life. I still can't stand Kaneshiro, Yamamoto and those films.

A few of the Harry Potter movies and Les Miserables. I think that's it. I'll rewatch movies on DVD many times, but I begrudge paying multiple times to see a movie at the cinema...

All 3 LOTR films I saw twice at the cinema.

Also Willow. I went with my family and then for a friend's birthday party a couple of days later.

Hmm, hard question but a good one.. I dont often go back and see films at the cinema again. Ones that I can remember are..

    The Others
    Titanic
    Atonement
    Les Miserables
    Planet Terror
    Super 8

And most of them were just because someone else wanted to go and see them.

If I like a film and think it's particularly good, I will often go to see it 2 or 3 times. I would only be likely to see a film 3 times or more if it's got a particularly gorgeous actor in it.

The most times I've seen a film in cinema are:

Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: 9 times
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: 5 times
Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader: 13 times

Harry Potter number 8: 8 times (because Daniel Radcliffe was at his most gorgeous by then)
Harry Potter other films: perhaps 2 or 3 each

Stormbreaker (with Alex Pettyfer): 6 times
The Eagle (Jamie Bell): 3 times
Man on a Ledge (Jamie Bell): 3 times
    Beastly (Alex Pettyfer): 3 times
I Am Number Nine (Alex Pettyfer): 2 times
    Inception: 2 times
Aliens in the Attic (Austin Butler) 3 times
    Chronicle: 2 times

Very rarely. Back in the olden days (well, the 60s anyway), if there was a double bill you could go in at the start of one film, stay for the second, then watch the first again and so on.

Otheriwse, can only think of two that I've willingly paid to watch twice: Celine and Julie Go Boating, and American Graffiti. And I saw the original Star wars trilogy when they were first released, and then again when they were rereleased in the 90s.

    Extremely rarely.

Given that a film's run is mostly a matter of weeks, any repeat viewing would be far too close to the first viewing to be enjoyable. In exactly the same way that I'd never immediately re-read a book I've just finished. Frankly I'm quite surprised that so many people go to see the same film more than once over what is, presumably, quite a short period of time. What on earth do they get out of it? Especially children's films. Don't they pay attention the first time?:p

The only film I can recall seeing twice on its initial run was Casino Royale and that was only because I got a crap front row seat and had a terrible viewing angle the first time.

    Jurassic park
Home Alone 2, lost in New York (both twice).

I would never go to see a film twice now.
