Hi

I've uploaded a home movie from my grandmas 80th birthday onto a website from my Dads house, so that I could download it onto my computer and burn it on to disc

but when i go to DVD maker, it says that it cannot import it because of DRM

can anybody tell me how to bypass this?

I was sort of counting on it to burn on DVD for the whole family =[

Lobby your MP to ban DRM.

    It's the only way.

Do you reckon we should get rid of copyright too?

I had some weird problem with "DRM" (the licence) when I tried to download the BBCi player. Hadn't a clue what they were on about.

DRM being "Digital Rights Management" apparently. It seems my licence needs updating or some such, but as I say, I don't quite know what it's all about. All I want to do is play stuff off the BBCi player, as advertised on the BBC itself.

What is this DRM licence ? How the hell is the average person supposed to know all about it ?

At any rate the BBCi player won't work, presumably because of it. I tried to follow the instructions to rectify the situation, but they simply didn't work.

Which website was this? I don't know any that add DRM to uploaded videos. Try burning it with something else and see what happens.

This has to be an error.
You made the movie and you own it so DRM doesn't apply.
I would suggest the site that you uploaded it to has applied DRM to stop pirate movies being distributed.

Thats odd, might be best sticking the original file onto a USB stick or something and missing out the website altogether. I can't see how a home movie has ended up DRM'd unless that website done it.
