There is definitely going to be some sort of film. It was put on the Sony/Columbia release schedule for 2013 a few weeks ago. I remember posting about it at the time.

I would do a combo of both. I would have some scripted shenanigans in between live concert stuff. Maybe like Purple Rain (but not melodramatic like that). Purple Rain was essentially a concert movie with a very flimsy plot line weaving in an out of the performances. It was a massive hit.
another week, another billboard chart history for 1D: :cool:
Album Sales: John Mayer holds on to No. 1, One Direction makes chart history
John Mayer may be feeling dumpy and “humiliated” about that big meanie Taylor Swift, but the fact that his fifth album, Born and Raised, has just logged a second week atop the Billboard 200 should cheer him up.
One thing Mayer couldn’t hold off? One Direction’s DVD release of Up All Night: The Live Tour, which sold 76,000 copies. As Yahoo‘s Paul Grein explains, this marks the first time ever that the No. 1 music DVD release has outsold the No. 1 album.
Just looking at addboard and One Thing seems to be picking up steam. And I'm quite surprised at the numbers from the US after quite a while and it's 40k for albums this week (top 5 still!), 120k+ for singles and 76k for the DVD. How many more million YouTube views as well? They seem to be holding up far better in the US than they did in the UK.
SYCO ought to move quickly and get a second album out in November for the UK and US with another great lead single like WMYB. Does anyone know if this is the plan? Or will it be longer?

Sales-wise they must be very close to Leona if they have not surpassed her.
