I can't get over the amount of attention they are giving Sam Bailey. She has been on every television show on daytime TV. Surely they must want her to win if they are plugging her so much?
The show has hyped up a lot of 16 and 17 year old girls over the years (Laura White, Diana Vickers, Cher Lloyd, Janet Devlin, Ella Henderson etc), but they have tended to flatter to deceive.....I don't think one of them has ever even finished in the top 3, despite them all being described as potential winners and the next big superstar.

well there was leona and alexandra haha but yep i get what u mean, they are all overrated then people dont end up voting for them as much, however i dislike cher lloyd strongly with her swagger fagger song

Both of those were 21 when they won.....it seems it's much harder for the young teenage girls to win.

I think Laura White was 20 when she was on the show.
I think IF Melanie makes it to the final 3 she'll become a real contender, the negative press associated with Tamera is really hurting her chances of winning and Hannah, well, I think she'll be the first girl to leave...

The interesting thing about that year is that Laura White and Diana Vickers were the big favourites in the girls category and Alexandra Burke was there to make up the numbers. It just shows the producers and "judges" are pretty clueless when it comes to predicting a winner.

Melanie strikes me as the type of singer who would start the live shows as the outsider of the three girls, but the one who would go the furthest on the show.
The problem with the judges is they predict who they want to win rather than the contestant who is the best singer.
Without a doubt. Every year, the producers and judges latch on to a singer or two that they want to win and hype them to death, but most years the public go for someone else.

My thoughts exactly. Alex was the same she was the least likely to win in Cheryl's final 3 but she really blossomed into a star in the live shows...
i think the bad publicity she has had will count against her and she will need the judges votes to save her numerous times! she sounds like a complete Diva and nasty piece of work! lets face facts... she already been given a lifeline on her audition as it was a car wreck at times...
Personally i will be cheering for her to go early.. do not like Bullies..

Did'nt affect Cher Lloyd's chances, and look how well she has done.

I really want a NICE person to win! I think we need to give everybody the benefit of the doubt and not be quick to judge them on past mistakes, but I do think it's important that the winner proves themselves to be likeable and deserving, during live shows. At the end of the day, people would give their right arm for this and it will totally change somebodies life. It would be nice if that person were really deserving and appreciative.
The likes of Ollie Murs comes to mind. Such a decent guy, despite not being the best vocalist in the world. Just has that something extra and a likability factor. At the end of the day, it's the XFactor, not The Voice, so I think that counts just as much.

Bit soon to be declaring a winner though.

They were playing I Will Be in the background proving how much better Leona was :L

We were probably saying that about Gamu too.
It's far too early to predict a winner. I think it's easier to predict once we're halfway through the live shows.

AHAHAHA I know right!! xD
Now Gamu. That really is someone who can sing. Great to see her performing at the recent V Festival.

Yep, Couldn't agree more.
