I just noticed this as well. I was looking at the schedules and something kept bugging me that there was something missing at 9PM that I usually turn over for.
The program it's been replaced with, Space Dive, is a bit of an exclusive for the BBC. They have global exclusive footage of Felix Baumgartner's amazing skydive from 3 weeks ago.
Presumably that's how long it's took them to package it all up as a documentary and unfortunately a show has had to move for it.
When people's favorite TV show gets moved with no explanation though people quite rightly get cheesed off, some make plans to stay in and watch.
I absolutely hate it when they do this. I'm not too fussed about some documentary they should have scheduled. We all pay well over £100 a year in TV licence and this is a big let down for some.
Of all the things in the world to get upset about is there really nothing more important than Dragons Den being put back a week?
Is it really a 'big let down'?
Really? Some perspective please
In terms of what bothers people right now yes, if people sat down to watch something they've been looking forward to only to find it's cancelled it's the same as finding out the theatre show you paid to go to has been cancelled or put back.
Is it the most annoying thing in the world? no I'm sure somebody has been diagnosed with a terminal illness today, but if you compared everything against the worst possible case everything would seem trivial. This does annoy people enough to do something proportionate though - moan on an internet forum.
Have you nothing more important to moan about than moan about people moaning about a TV show being put back a week? You should get your priorities right and only discuss terrible tragedies of the world.
Every year without fail the BBC schedule Dragons Den then move and cancel it at will. If they did this to Strictly or Eastenders people would be in uproar.
So why should I not be angry when it happens to my favorites show? The thing that angers me the most is the lack of communication from the BBC, they could have said after last week's show.
Just cheesed off that it happens every year to the show

You shouldnt be angry because it doesnt matter
I am angry and with good reason as they do this every year with Dragons Den.
They also treated another show I was watching even worse. They moved the final episode of Be Your Own Boss from Wednesday at 9pm to Friday at 1am. What did they show in its place? Reruns of Gavin and Stacey. For the sake of 1 episode they could have shown it in the same slot as the previous 5 episodes.
I dont see any other channels doing this. The BBC should not be ratings chasing as they are licence fee funded. They should show more respect to their viewers.

I don't remember it happening before. I don't see why it's such a big deal.

Yep, DD's on Dave at 7.15am weekdays. I watch it before work.
Recently they have been screening the Canadian Dragons' Den and now the Irish version.
Today they are re-running Hilary's first series at 8am, repeated at 11am and 4pm.
Yeah I sometimes get a takeaway and watch Dragons Den as it's one of my favorite shows. If you think it sucks then fine.
The OP was suggesting more than that, they were suggesting putting the date in your diary, cancelling all other plans and the moving of said show has spoilt their entire evening. Not like it was a live or one of a kind event. It was a pre recorded show that has been delayed a week.
The OP reminds me of the people who start planning their Christmas viewing schedule in October :-P

I think as license fee payers with have the right to know why programmes are inexplicably postponed for no apparent reason.

Calm down, it's been moved for a week to make room for a documentary on a once in a lifetime event.
It's back next week, no harm done

Its really nothing to get worked up about.

I''ll get Newsnight on the case...but I can't promise answers
