As yet again, I seem to be being subjected to CBeebies and Nick Jr at least once a week I thought I'd mention my favourites. OK, it's mainly Nick Jr at the moment, but these things can change at the drop of a hat.
Number one, by a long chalk, must be The Backyardigans - cool, sophisticated, songs you can sing along to; what more could you wish for.
Next, Lazy Town. Again, sophisticated plotting and characters you can relate to - OK, not Robby Rotten, obviously.
If you want something more relaxing, you have the Flower Tots.
And if you wish to give the old brain cells a work out, then there's Blue's Clues.
Angelina Ballerina? Pity she wouldn't disappear up her own tutu!
Dora the Explorer - I'm still waiting for her to say, "Hasta la Vista, baby!"

Jimmy Neutron

Lazytown
Backyardigans
She also likes Tweenies and Balamory, both of which I can't stand
Boogie Beebies is good too, she likes to dance along to that.
Have to say, we've been taping Rainbow for my 4 year old and he LOVES it. On rewatching it have to say it was really excellent. Not too long, each episode with a moral or theme, nice story included and a catchy song. Nothing flashy about it but good solid wee kids entertainment. Save for the clothes they wear its not really dated insofar as anything else goes.
Ooh yeah we love Big Cook Little Cook too, class!! and boogie beebies is good, even my 8 year old dances to that
My son also loves the old favourite - teletubbies which I don't mind except when they say things like 'today is Lalas day to be very naughty' I mean what sort of example is that?
And does nobody else find Big Cook Little Cook a bit freaky? I think it's the flying around on phallic wooden spoons that does it...
Some of my old favourites include: Brum, Postman Pat and Alphabet Castle.
I watched a children's tv programme last week, I have no idea what it is called, what channel it was on, but it had me joining in. The presenter was chatting away and showing you the different words in sign language. Anyone know what this show was? I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
That could be 'Something special' on Cbeebies? With Mr Tumble.....?
