Swedish power metal band Sabaton. All their songs are on a theme of historical battles. Their latest albumCarolus Rex is all about the rise & fall of the Swedish empire in the 17th/18th centuries. The Swedes had an Empire - who knew? Well I didn't until this album.
Previous tracks have mostly covered WW1/WW2 with tracks such as Cliffs of Gallipoli & 40:1 about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising in 1943.
Pretty good if you're interested in military history.
Songs are in English btw
I love that people actually have historical discussions in their Youtube comments

Although the latest album, Carolus Rex, is available in two versions, English and Swedish.
Boadicea - Roisin Murphy ft Mason
Trophy - Bat For Lashes (I think there's a historical theme there somewhere "the queens and the court jesters clapped, adored, their heart swelled to overdrive and mercy soared...")
And I couldn't resist mentioning Whole Lotta History by Girls Aloud

This is my 2nd fave song of all-time!
I thought of Mai Tai's History. The Revolution have just played Gladys Knight & the Pips' The Way We Were.
I prefer the cover by Finnish folk metal band Turisas

About the white man's attempt to wipe out the Buffalo, on which the native Americans depended.
