Hi, I have a 2012 LG plasma TV and it has no jack socket/headphone socket, I have a Bose companion 3 series 2 speaker set and these connect with a jack plug, any ideas how I can get these working on the TV?

There 'should' be audio output on the SCART socket on the TV - although there may not be from all available inputs.
Basically you're trying to connect a modern TV to an antique sound system - the TV will have an optical audio out, which would connect to a modern system.

will convert that to analogue assuming the BOSE kit doesn't have a digital input.
"Antique sound system"?? Are you having a laugh??
FFS.
I was thinking the same, it's not antique, it's still being sold and it's one of the best speaker systems I've heard and had, Bose.....need I say more lol.
Please don't take what Nigel says as gospel. He's very sure of everything he says, and despite having a history as a TV engineer, often talks out of his ****
You need a Scart adaptor like this:

And then a normal twin phono cable to the AUX input of your system.
Usually, only surround systems bother putting digital inputs on their units.
Thank you, just a quick question, the twin phono cable, would that be the red and white on one end then the jack on the other ( so twin in the scart in back of the TV and the jack plug into the back of the Bose system).
However if you have a DVD player for example plugged in to the TV you won't get any sound out of it when playing a disk. As I posted above the only way to get sound from whatever source you are viewing is to use the optical digital out.
If you want audio from an external device, you'd be better to plug direct into the device, rather than the TV. Most have analogue phonos out.
Does your Bose system not have phonos in?
If it's minijack only, then yes, black and red phonos to minijack lead...
(Sometimes it's red and white)
No, any decent sound system in the 21st century should have digital inputs - mind you what can you expect from Bose
Over priced and under specced
Far easier to have the telly do the input selection so that the audio always matches the pictures.
The Bose companion 3 series 2 is designed to be used with PC's, iphones/iPods etc, not home cinema.
