I just watched Pixar's Brave for the first time yesterday. Slightly odd, but beautifully done and entertaining, as ever for Pixar.

    Regards

I don't think it's the BEST Pixar but it's gorgeous to watch.

Not sure what they'll do for a sequel though.

This reliance on sequels is getting to be a worry for Pixar. The Toy Story trilogy is a masterpiece, but I'd rather have new ideas rather than recycled old ones.

I hated this on first viewing but have since grown to love it.

My personal Pixar fave is A Bug's Life which often gets overlooked.

Brave looked fantastic but was very 'safe' and 'pedestrian'

Has Pixar ever released its show reels? Back in my university days, Pixar's show reels were circulated around film classes. The reels were meant for a lecturer's private inspection as he was a judge for a festival or similar, but two students made copies and circulated them until the lecturer found out. :o I can only remember these:

    - a big lamp and a little lamp act as a parent and a child.
    - a kettle struggles to solve a dilemma of getting its plug to a socket
    - a goofy snowman tries to find a way out of his glass dome to join the others
    - a unicycle juggles a few colourful balls under a spotlight

I would love to see them again. I'm hoping they are available on YouTube or somewhere if Pixar hasn't officially released them.

I do! It's fantastic. Hilarious all the way through.

They are doing a sequel??? Noooooo  It'll probably be crap unless it's something TOTALLY different (i.e. nobody getting lost and having to find them) Is it a cinema release or going straight to DVD?

    Thank you.

Almost. Same lamps, but the one I saw must be an early version because it was shorter and the background wasn't that detailed. It was all black and brown. No plug socket. I don't think there was any cords. The ball was in one colour. Red, I think? Great to see that video, though. Thank you.

I am not looking forward to the sequel in a way. Disney sequels never do it for me. Who knows? I might be wrong.

Best animated film I have ever seen and I can not wait until the sequel.
I have seen it at least 15 times. My wife and I love it. We watched it twice in one day the once.
