or is it too outdated?
also, do you thin it'll still receive the latest android OS updates for years to come?

No you won't get many more updates if any after next one, but that will apply to most phones and I wouldn't worry about it too much still be a great phone.

Well worth that money. Still a very good phone.
actually it £303.05 pounds if willing do a bank transfer payment
Choice of three colours but the grey is an extra fiver that is probably the best price at the moment.

whats this 'LTE' variant? and whats the difference between this and a regular S3?
Basically one supports LTE and one doesn't they both are exactly same apart from that it just means the S3 LTE will support faster speeds so in theory is more future proof.
It supports 800MHz/1800MHz/2600MHz unlike the iPhone 5 so it will run on any of the LTE networks that are set up in the uk in the foresee able future.
Personally I think it worth the extra bit to get the LTE thrown in to a brilliant smartphone but it comes down to personal preference some don't want LTE.
Unless you're worried about things like battery life, camera quality, having more than 16GB storage or some useful software features like multi-window.
Not to mention a longer warranty, a wider range of accessories, the option of an LTE model.
Already been said and not a better phone at all, maybe better value possibly.
The Nexus brigade are getting worse than the iphone mob
on par with the samsung brigade, you are the king of that my friend.
Not quite I don't feel the need to drag certain phones into every thread for unknown reasons especially when totally irrelevant to the discussion
neither do i.
but your samsung love is clear to see and you love telling everyone about it - they can do no wrong in your eyes.
in my opinion, spending £300 on an S3 would be a bad move. it's not a current samsung model and certainly the site linked to does not instill confidence.
if you were getting it for free or a very small upgrade free then possibly, but not £300.
My Samsung love, where has this love been gushed about exactly then?
And you do drag the nexus into irrelevant threads I'm afraid.
Your opinion would be wrong though, if your budget is £300 then there are very few phones that can compete with the s3. It not being the current samsung phone doesn't make it any worse you know strange statement.
However spending £300 on the Nexus is a smart move yes?
It's a current model as they still produce it and sell it....
£300 for the phone is a good price.
£287 in Amazon
Secondly for many the s3 is superior to the nexus that is why.
16GB Nexus is 280 so it about same price. I agree the memory the ram is higher on nexus 4 but apart from that there is nothing really better. Battery is better optimized on the S3. Some people don't like stock android and prefer touchwiz. Camera app on S3 is better. S-Beam the person may want. They may prefer amoled display. There is quite a few reasons why someone would want the S3 but I still agree on what I said if someone is getting an S3 they need go for the S3LTE as it includes HSPA 42+ support where as standard doesn't
Says you who tells people not to by an S3 because yours kept rebooting itself.
I had one and it was great. My Mrs still has one and its running superbly since launch day.
For the record, i have a Nexus 4.
Heh I do no what I talking about I advised the S3 LTE as it is the best value for money at the moment. Nexus 4 is good for some people but it doesn't have LTE and 3/4 of the networks having LTE by end of year with the fourth possibly I think to discount LTE is a stupid idea specially if you buying the phone sim free.
For the record I hate touchwiz and not a massive fan of stock android either so I am not bias to either device.
I own a HTC one it all comes down to personal preference. I think Nexus 4 is a great value device specially when it came out but I also think the S3 LTE is also a great device. It really comes down to what the person is after. They may want all of the features/extras that Samsung give in the S3 or just want a stock version then go for the Nexus 4.
