I really liked the look of the Note 8.0, but the price is really putting me off.

That's over £100 more than the iPad mini

I wonder if they are just "guessing" the price and it might go down nearer to the launch. In Australia Samsung are apparently selling it for about £315 (459 Australian Dollars)

It's better than the overrated & overpriced iPad Mini in my humble opinion.

I would like to get a Galaxy Note 8.0, but I don't like to get products as soon as they're launched.

I will wait until later in the year to make sure any problems are ironed out & also in the hope that the price will drop.

Even if we disregard the iPad mini the Note 8.0 is even more expensive than the note 10.1.

If I wanted an 8-inch tablet I'd choose this over the iPad Mini.

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and it's an excellent tablet.

I'd even choose the nexus 7 over this if I wanted a 7-8 inch tablet. I just think its over priced. I'm not keen on the s- pen in a device this size for some reason.

    It isn't.

The rrp for the 10.1 is £399 & the rrp for the 8.0 is £339.

OK, I'll concede that a number of retailers are currently offering the 10.1 at a marked down price; some of them for less than £339, but that is a promotional price, probably to shift stocks of the 10.1 which has older tech than the 8.0 does.

The S-Pen on the Note 10.1 is an intuitive feature (e.g. Hover for Menus allows you to see information and scroll without touching the screen).

The note 10.1 has been around the £350 mark for a while now.

I'm a fan of the s-pen, I have the galaxy note phone. I think with a phone it's something that you can whip out anywhere and make use of and in a 10.1 inch device it would be good for productive stuff but in the 8.0 I'm not so sure. If it came down in price £200-250 I'd buy one.
