The Beatles aren't overrated. If you compare them with what was before them,in Britain, there was eg Cliff Richard. Try to imagine the difference if you were young, then. Everything you listen to now developed because The Beatles were not thrilled by listening to stuff even their grandparents would have thought was boring.
If you'd listen to say..Cliff's 'Summer Holiday' songs you too might have been glad to hear John Lennon screaming, 'Twist And Shout .There was no rock or r and b going on...nor much else..in the UK..'Helter Skelter' was the first prototype 'heavy metal' track or one of, the first. They also sung some Motown which opened up the way for newer stuff.
The Beatles aren't my favourite group but they deserve more than a casual " overrated". I've bored meself, now...:D
I once dated a veggie who made me eat Linda McCartney frozen pies. God they were terrible, and that's when she was alive and presumably involved.
Saw an ad for the brand recently, it was all hippy dippy with a VoiceOver that kinds remarkably like Paul McCartney. Quell surprise.
I think the whole lot of them are overrated. Epecially Ringo. Peace and love, peace and love.
What's your point? Linda McCartney products and Quorn and stuff are for people who are transitioning and haven't learnt what vegetarians eat yet.
Regarding James and Stella being stuck up/unsmiling, Stella said that Paul made them go to state schools to keep them grounded. But obviously you can't go turning up to your local comprehensive in a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce without standing out like a sore thumb, let alone also being Paul McCartney's children. They were picked on, and it obviously had a lasting effect on them.
"transitioning"? could have another meaning. Seriously most LM veggie stuff is dire, (and Im Veggie)
Anyway back to James, I wonder if Paul will keep his promise not to leave his kids any money? perhaps that's why James is so nervous.

I'm not sure where this 'chauffeur driven' idea comes from. Linda would often pick their kids up from school in her purple mini.
Obviously the McCartney kids were going to stand out at the local Comprehensive. But none of them are spoiled brats and do very little to twitch the tabloids. Heather the eldest keeps herself to herself and is a talented potter and animal rights activist, Mary raises 4 boys and is a successful photographer, Stella of course we know about and James is trying his hand at music. Ok, he obviously has his demons and problems but none of this is down to Paul and Linda's parenting. As a family they are incredibly close and supportive.

Where do these ideas come from? Paul has never promised to not leave his children money. On the Howard Stern show he said all the children (including little Bea) have been very well provided for (in his will and in the present).
Actually, I agree with you. and it`s what we British are supposed to specialise in, but we don`t seem to get it anymore. As for James, he`s not media-savvy, but why does everyone have to be?
Well, I do think if you are as extremely awkward/shy as James appears to be a career where doing interviews can be very important might not be the best choice.
It's a shame about dry and dark humour having become something of a cultural no-no these days. Makes for tense moments if you aren't careful when that just wouldn't have happened before.
I can't believe the moronic comments on this thread.
Despite having some degree of talent, and due to his blank expression and awkwardness, McCartneys son would appear to have some form/degree of Aspergers syndrome.
As such, he is a person to be treated with dignity and understanding....
not ridicule, abuse and sick comments.
Didn't you people learn anything from the world around you?
Didn't you ever encounter this personality type before?
Probably you did at school....where (if you weren't the bullies) you were the weak gutted
onlookers who said nothing except "he asked for it" as the misunderstood victim was relentlessly picked on and seen as "fair game".
Well it's not a fair game brothers and sisters.
Shame on you all!
They didn't have chauffeurs ever, and Linda used to pick the kids up in her mini.
But don't let the truth get in the way of a good story will you!
I've seen James play live 5 times btw, and yes he kind of has no excuses by now with his interviews (ie he should smile), but he's clearly very shy with people - some **** shouted "you fat bastard you look like your dad" at a gig in proper football chant, and James sang the song with his eyes shut after that clearly trying to shut out the ****.

That's questionable. The Beatles have got to be the most overrated band ever!
Totally agree

This sent me into fits of giggles. He does resemble Humpty Dumpty.

This is a great song, he has plenty of great songs

unfortunately due to his TV persona, most people get put off from even trying them
