"Forgotten" Dance's You Like

We all know how much people enjoyed the unforgettable dances from Strictly's past (Kara' Rumba, Jill's Jive), but what about dances that nobody mentions but that make you smile?

One that always sticks out for me is Lynda & Darren's Cha-Cha-Cha from Series 7. It wasn't very technical, and she was a bit flat footed, but the music, their smiles and the enthusiasm of the dance really made it stand out and ended up becoming one of my favourites from that year!

    Jade Johnson's Viennese Waltz from that same year is often overlooked. Presuming she hadn't pulled out and had made it to the final, she could have had tens for reprising it.

    She got the highest Salsa score too, I think!

    Shame she never really progressed from that moment on

    But the dance that first introduced me to SCD via YT...somehow had managed (unintentionally) to avoid SCD :eek::eek: until then....Gethin and Camilla's waltz.... so beautiful and romantic... :)

    Jodie Kidd and Ian's Waltz was one of my favourites and I think it was quite undermarked.

    Mine is funnily enough from a winner but one of their underrated ones more 'forgotten' about. It was Alesha and Matthew's quickstep, and every time I watch it I feel happy. I feel it's more forgotten as there were a lot of stand-out routines from them.

    I also loved Letitia and Darren's Paso from the same year. :)

    I absolutely loved the Waltz done by James Martin and Camilla Dallerup...... It was beautiful......

    One of my favourite, largely forgotten performances, was Claire Sweeney dancing a beautiful rumba with John Byrnes.

    I liked that too, I have series 1 on video and on DVD and that is one of my favourites

    This is not from SCD (forgive me?) but is connected as it's Pasha dancing the most beautiful waltz which others have maybe forgotten...

    Lovely routine and super music, and Pasha was great. Pity he didn't have a better partner than Lacey who has appalling posture and over-dances everything

    I don't remember a John Barnes Samba - his Salsa earned a ten, did it not? Maybe that was just more memorable.

    He did do a Samba as well (the week he was eliminated).

    I think I did actually mean his Salsa lol (I always get confused with the early series and those 2 dances, and yes he did get a 10, from Len iirc).

    Having said that, I loved Gethin's AT. Great song, great intensity.

    Yes it was the salsa - that was the only dance John really excelled in. Poor John he wasn't the worst dancer, I think he was MOR but he ended up in the bottom 2 quite a lot - I think it was four times in total. His salsa was good though I think one of the few weeks he managed to avoid it lol.

    They showed him and Nicole going to a salsa club in the VT - he also got some tips from his son who apparently is a salsa enthusiast.

    Although I only started watching SCD from season 6 onwards (and rabidly the last two years.. :p:D), when I first came across Matt and Lilia's show dance on YT, I really loved it...still do... ah... gorgeous Lilia.. :D

    I enjoyed all of James and Camilla's ballroom dances. Two in particular which I really enjoyed that seem to get overlooked are the Viennese Waltz to "Mr Bojangles" and the Foxtrot to "Beyond The Sea". If I remember correctly they didn't do too badly score-wise for these dances.

    On the subject of James and Camilla I loved their tango - great styling and choreography from Camilla - and Im not usually a Camilla fan !!

    Gonna add Peter Shilton & Erin Boag's Waltz to my list.

    Yes, it was basically my dad dancing this, but it was actually quite technically solid, and strangely captivating!
