Pacific Time Zone (West coast) = 8 hours behind (4:40am = 12:40pm here)

    Mountain Time Zone = 7 hours behind (4:40am = 11:40am here)

    Central Time Zone = 6 hours behind (4:40am = 10:40am here)

    Eastern Time Zone = 5 hours behind (4:40am = 9:40am here)

On the Eastern Seaboard, 4:40am US = approximately 8:40am in the UK

    Central Time, 4:40am US = 9:40am UK

    Mountain Time, 4:40am US = 10:40am UK

    Pacific Seaboard, 4:40am US = 11:40am UK

Here's an image with the time zones:

    Hope this helps :)

Those times were applicable when I was in the US, there was four hours between UK and Eastern Seaboard.

For New York (Eastern Standard Time) just add 5 hours to get UK time. For the Western Seaboard (Pacific Standard Time) add 8 hours.

    Central Standard + 6
    Mountain + 7

If you have Vista you can add multiple clocks to view by mousing over your system tray.

I'm guessing you were there between March 11 and March 25 this year? Your numbers are 1 hour off.

That was during Mr Bush's "Lets f*ck up the Daylight Savings" period where they started 2 weeks earlier than us instead of 1 week later. Also will happen between 3rd sunday in October and 1st sunday in November this year.
