Are we reaching a point of where graphics can't be improved too much?

I know they're only launch titles but there's nothing on PS4 or Xbox1 that has given me what I call a "Motorstorm Moment" like when I first saw that game on the PS3.
Perhaps there will be jump later on in the generation but for now it seems to be just slightly improved albeit with more action on-screen possible and particle effects.
Have we got to a point where they can't be improved vastly and the processing power will be used for AI etc?

Hilarious!
Respect to the new consoles anyhow they have come a long way.
Manhunt in that engine would be brutal
The anti game people would go nuts

Beautiful.
Personally I'll like more time spent on bigger, busier worlds with more character intergration than on fancy graphics (although flash graphics are a bonus). Something like the game 'State of Decay' with zombie hordes in their hundreds, plenty of other survivors and a changing world stretching for miles would make for some interesting gameplay.
The fire is awesome, they showed some demos of how it all works and how it uses fluid tech to make the fire move around corners and such as it would naturally.
KZ is looking spectacular too.

My only concern is the small HUD text, it will be illegible on Vita.
That does look great. It's a shame it seems to be a bit slow and boring to me. It's one of the fears i have from switching for Call of Duty to Battlefield this year. I love the fast paced instant kills/death type gameplay.
Yes, in the sense that as far as character models go (ref. all of David Cage's high detail tech-wankery) we'll pass the point where people will actually be able to perceive greater detail and/or it is economically viable to actually produce such art assets- or at least, hardware will outpace it.
No, in the sense that having more polygons to throw around means that it's easier to create the "bigger, busier worlds" He4rt mentioned as developers wouldn't need to rely on as many of the tricks they use now, which will improve the way games look.
Obviously the PS4 and Xbox One will see further improvements, but I doubt we'll ever see a leap as big as that that happened in 1993-94.
Why wouldn't you want PR-graphics more to the point?
Cause I like to know I'm playing a game it's all well in good improving graphics but having a game that looks like real life no thanks.
We need to surpass photo-realism and go for hyper-reality, where graphics are indistinguishable from the real thing but with an added artistic flair that lifts them above the mundane.
TBH I think it would depend on the game. Fifa or Gran Turismo will always benefit from getting the graphics as close to photo realism as possible.
But I am not sure I would want to play Manhunt with photo realistic graphics. The closer to real life FPS games get the more people that get effected by motion sickness from them.
So for me whether I want photo realism in a game depends on the game itself.
