A song from the sixties

Hi. Recently I've been searching for an old song which I think is called Smile. It's a pop song with a British style, very much like The Beatles'. Its time signature is 4/4, and when the singer starts to sing, his first word is "Smile..." (the rest I can't remember) while something like these chords are played: Fmaj (4 beats) - Fmaj (4 beats) - Cmaj (4 beats) - Cmaj (4 beats) - Dm (4 beats) - Dm (4 beats) - B♭maj (4 beats) - B♭m (4 beats), and now the singer says something like "All I wanna do-o-o-o-o is smile, all I wanna do", while these chords are played (starting with do-o-o-o-o): Fmaj (4 beats) - Gmaj (2 beats) - Cmaj (2 beats) - Fmaj.
Nonetheless, I'm Spanish and I listened to that song when I was a child, so I'm not sure about the lyrics. They could be any phonetic combination that sounds similar, and the only thing I'm pretty sure about is that it says "smile".
I looked in Wikipedia, YouTube and Google and I couldn't find it. I also searched for Cliff Richard, since it sounds to me like one of his songs, but I got no result. I find it pretty strange, since I'm sure it's a famous song, so I must be missing something. Any clue?
(Note: if this information is not enough, I also remember part of the melody; I could make a midi file).

I imagine there are dozens of other versions of the song, so maybe you heard it by someone else ?
ps.........don't understand all that chord stuff...........
Words were added later (1950s) for Nat King Cole

Sorry for the inaccuracy; I did it in a few minutes.
I hope it helps.
theres an air of familiarity about that, you might just get it id'd.
it was a group like the beatles, yeah?
so a guitar group with a male lead... yes?

Compared to some of Tom's great records like 'It's Not Unusual' and 'She's a Lady'.....even 'Delilah'........that Smile one is eminently forgettable...........:p
I do note that several of the comments on YouTube are in Spanish.............maybe it appealed more to the Spanish speaking world ?
Smile was the B-side of Delilah when Delilah was first released as a single.
Why it came with a bottle of brandy is a mystery, though.
Certainly it's not one of the best songs of Tom Jones, but I had it hidden in my mind since I was a child. You may be right, probably it was more successful in Spain.
And my brother told me that we were wrong, it didn't come with a bottle of brandy. That was another one of the singles we had.
"All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too". Hehe.
This is my personal transcription:
Smile, (or we are blue) (?), I let the sun come shining through,
There's no need to cry, let the clouds roll on by,
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
Smile, and you will find you leave your troubles way behind,
Laugh and you will see you could be happy with me,
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
Laugh with me now and I'll show you just how
I love you.
Smile (pretty baby) (?) you,
Smile and let the whole world smile with you... Yeah!
Smile, (or we are blue) (?), I let the sun come shining through,
There's no need to cry, just let the clouds roll on by,
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
(Yes!)
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
(Oh!)
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
(Wooh!)
All you gotta do is smile and the world smiles too.
Will a kind soul correct and complete this transcription? We'd be very grateful.
Smile, away a blue and let the sun come shining through,
(...)
Smile, pretty baby, do,
(...)
Anyway, I'm not sure if it's correct, so please check my whole transcription and let me know.
Greetings.
The seond one is correct - it's 'do'
I think the only line you haven't got quite right is the first line and the repeat of it later on............
I think it should be -
Smile away your blues and let the sun come shining through,
it does sound like 'smile away your blue' but that doesn't really make sense so it must be 'blues' ...........I think the 's' wasn't stressed to make it ryhme with 'through'
Otherwise I think you have it spot on !
Dino M: I didn't know the song was by Tom Jones because the last time I heard it was 25-30 years ago. I also didn't remember the key of the song: I thought it was in F and it really is in G. Imagine a sentence somebody told you 25 years ago. Would you remember the voice of that person, or just the words?
