He and his team (including Derek Meddings the model and effects man) moved the art of model filming techniques forward by leaps & bounds, and some of his later shows like UFO and Space 1999 were as good as anything seen in the cinema at the time.
Absolutely right Andy. In my opinion Gerry's pioneering and innovative body of work makes him THE most significant figure in British classic television of all time, even ahead of the likes of Lew Grade, Dennis Spooner, Brian Clemens and Patrick MacGoohan.

Wow - I'd no idea Gerry was responsible for Twizzle and Torchy as well. Only hazy memories, but my mum told me I loved those as a tot. So thanks Gerry, if it hadn't been for you, we'd have only had Watch with Mother!

I don't think an Angel would fly, nobody seems to have built a flying RC model of it, that I've found.
I suspect the wing configuration is what would stop it.
