Is that a bad thing? I quite liked the fact that every English language distributor had managed to hide (or play down) that element of the film. It made a change from films that give the entire plot line away in the trailer...
It was initially disappointment as it wasn't in anyway the film I was expecting but I'll probably just have to watch it again.
I loved The Dark Knight Rises, but I don't think it was the best of the trilogy. Still one of the best movies I've seen this year, though.
Favourite is The Perks of Being a Wallflower, though I also loved Skyfall, The Hunger Games, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.... Haven't seen Silver Linings Playbook or Looper yet - think they could make it onto the list too.
This is a movie I would like to see. But according to the hype it was going to have the same level of impact as The Matrix or Inception, but doesn't seem to have achieved that. Which doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a good movie of course.
I loved this aspect of the film, I walked into the cinema and was completely thrown and engrossed from the beginning.
I enjoy being taken on a ride, a journey through a story where at the end i want to watch it again to see what i might have missed and Looper did this for me in much the same way The Usual Suspects and The Sixth Sense did.
I guess im bored with flashy effects and meaningless fight sequences and was yearning for something even slightly less braindead at the time
The Life of Pi was easily the best film of 2012 for me. Everything else was very much seen it all before. Bond was more or less Bond, no surprises and The Avengers was like every other Marvel superhero film. Spiderman was a mess. The Hunger Games was very good, but not brilliant.
The Dark Knight Rises
The Avengers
Skyfall
The Hunger Games
I still have many more to catch up on though. Lots of very interesting looking stuff came out last year.
Yes I must admit I haven't watched many 'blockbusters' from last year as yet. Every time I go to watch one, I end up finding something less mainstream and more appealing to my mood at the time!

I especially want to see:
The Cabin in the Woods
The Woman in Black
The Amazing Spider-Man
House at the End of the Street
Prometheus
Rise of the Guardians
People Like Us
...and more. I also forgot to include Snow White and the Huntsman in my other list. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous and I am in the apparent minority who really like Kristen Stewart as an actress.

Dredd was brilliant from start to finish, I would not be upset in the slightest if this was the most popular film of 2012.
Unfortunately it only appeals to a limited audience compared to films like Skyfall.
I agree as I really enjoyed Dredd. It really took me by surprise and I am gutted that it is unlikely they will make any further movies.
Are we the same person?
Prometheus, DKR and CITW were all brutal disappointments ( though prometheus had sean harris in a tight spacesuit so it wasn't all bad)
The Giant Mechanical Man &
Hope Springs
The Avengers
Skyfall
The Hunger Games
