I'm really sorry to lower the tone and I'm half expecting a ban but I saw something last night that immediately reminded me of this thread.

Don't click it if you're in the office...

I guess some celebs do change over the years, some for the better, some for the worse. I think Toyah Willcox admitted to being full of herself and arrogant in her younger years and having mellowed since. A friend of mine was really upset when her daughter was at an event with her as a child and she was horrible to the kids there. If they work through their ego issues (let's face it, it's tempting to get a bit above yourself if you suddenly get famous, especially when young), you gotta give credit to those who come out the other side as decent.

Let's move on from McFools, and concentrate on the GOOD celebs out there. Like I said, it may not have worked out well with them, but I have met many others whom I've got on extremely well with. It's even better when they remember you after more than one meeting, and even remember your name and show an interest in you and what you have to say,

On a slightly different tack, has anyone here met anyone who you'd class as an important person i.e. royalty or politicians? I remember I got very close to Prince Charles a few years back at a museum opening event , I personally didn't speak to him myself, but I saw him meeting and greeting members of the public in the street, he seemed like a decent chap.

Got talking to a girl (Im only 23 no funny looks!) on a flight from Atlanta to Heathrow in October and she told me about an incident earlier last year at her work, a lasertag/arcade type place, where a very famous young Canadian male popstar paid to have the whole arcade locked down for himself.

Later on in the day he was losing at lasertag in a mixed group of normal people and broke down crying, threw his equipment everywhere and tried to break other peoples, and immediately his security escorted everyone to leave, refunding their money.

I would assume you're talking about Justin Bieber here, he's both looks and sings like a small girl, sounds like he has the personality of one as well

Jedward are supposed to be really good for remembering people. I'm crap with names and struggle to remember everyone in my own life, nevermind someone I only meet once, briefly!

clip of joan collins being.... joan, not sure if it can be classed as nasty but she certainly upset the guy giving her the painting if you read his comment about meeting her and then the bit where she says through gritted teeth " i would like to see my friends " is her at her bitchy best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7R_3_rI2PY

Was standing outside a pub in Soho a few weeks ago (having a cig :o) when Sienna Miller walked towards me. At first I wondered if it was her as she was just on her own and wasn't sure she would be able to do that! Anyway, I called her name and she was lovely and took a photo with me. You could have picked my mate off the floor when I went in and showed him the photo ..... thank God for camera phones!!

Hmm, that portrait was pretty horrible, though...

Years ago I saw Roy Hattersley (Labour MP) standing alone on a platform at New street staton looking as though he was overseeing his estate. Everybody was veering around him with about 15 feet to spare.

Blimey, now those in the public eye are being commented on how they appear to be looking/standing etc.

I'm glad I'm not a celeb, I often get told to cheer up and that I'm giving daggers. I'm neither fed up or looking at anyone funny, I just have that look about me at times unfortunately.

My accent should have been on the people walking around him. I did not know till much later that RH generated enough dribble to out a fire out when he speaks to you.

In which case I am struggling even more to understand the relevance to this thread.

Has anyone ever met Dermot O'Leary/ Holly Willoughby/ Christine Bleakley?

I'm always interested in what well known TV presenters/personalities are actually like off camera.

A bit of a long shot, but being a big 3-2-1 fan, I often wonder what the late Ted Rogers was like in real life.

Did anyone ever meet him, or even go on 3-2-1? :)

You've obviously never seen Spitting Image, then. It's Hattersley caricature was most apt.

Not only that, there's no mention of Boy George, or Swap Shop. That Roy Hattersley story had more holes in it than a lump o Swiss cheese.

A friend of mine used to be a waitress in an Italian restaurant in Buckinghamshire that Ted frequented in the 80s. I can't remember her saying anything negative about him, just that now and again customers and staff used to ask him to do the 3-2-1 thing with his fingers and he would usually oblige :D.

Seemed a decent chap but I never knew he was dead until I saw it on here  I know he'd definitely be knocking on if still alive but was shocked to hear how long ago it was.

Didn't realise he was dead either. Always got the impression he was not overly serious about the quiz, unlike some presenters who are so precious and defensive you would think they were performing Shakespear at the National.

Was in a restaurant in Manchester last Sunday with the family for our daughter's birthday meal when my son spotted one of his childhood heroes - Dick from Dick and Dom. He used to be their number one fan but was too shy to go up and say anything. When it was obvious that he and his companion had finished eating, my older son took his brother to Dick's table and explained how much of a fan his little brother is.

    My son is also called Dom so there were some jokes about that and he posed for a lovely picture and told our Dom that he's taller than CBBC Dom. It brought a tear to my eye that he was so lovely and took the time to be really nice to a young fan. There were also a few jokes about Dom being fine till he spotted Dick etc;

Last night I met Theo Paphitis (Dragon's Den) and had a nice chat with him - and got a photo.

I also met Bobby Davro (mate of Theo's) and had a brief chat with him, came across as nice guy :)
