and the screen & camera are amazin
i like the htc desire c but the procesor is weak.
i just brought the nokia lumia 800 and hate it lol
Give it a day or two or you could always go via a custom rom. but that involves boot loader unlocking
what does it say in the about device section regarding software version?
HTC Sense Version 4.1
Brand new AFAIK as it still had HTC screen cover on.
You bought this second hand right?
Sounds like it's running a custom rom or unbranded firmware (on branded phone) or something like that. So yes, that would explain why there is no update. What happens when you boot into recovery? Does it show CWM?
No I got a red x on the screen (which got me a bit worried) but long press on power button turned the phone off then I just started it up as normal.
sim free? it should update ota.
no idea about branded versuons.
i had the phone, it was very good.
look at the baseband , software etc ?
my update came through ota no problems .
cant understand that tbh?
No you won't, ever.
You can update yourself if your reasonable on a PC / Laptop
Head over to xda developers for info,
So what are the advantages of being s-off then? I was told over on xda that it was running sipercid. The furthest I have got with updating a phone was with my desire s when I got the final update off the HTC dev website but that was straight forward enough.
Well, you can now flash roms, including more up to date ones.
That's your advantage right there.
You just can't do it via the update software part of the phone.
Thought you had to be rooted to do that? It's all new to me this. So is it just a case of finding a Rom you like, downloading it onto your pc then connecting the phone and installing it? That's all I did when I installed the desire s update.
Enjoy!
Xda developers . Everything you need is there, including how to videos.
Root is required, yes, but its very straightforward
Well I have received an ota update to android 4.1.1 and sence 4+ but I think it might be a bad idea to update while the device is s-off.
