Hmm, didn't expect ITV to do anything at all for CITV's anniversary, let alone give it an hour-long prime-time special; I presume it's going to be similiar to the Tiswas Reunited show that was screened a few years ago.

CITV itself made a big effort for its 20th anniversary in 2002 with a celebration featuring lots of old faces and old clips - which can be seen here.

Surely Itv childrens programming is a lot older than 30 years?

Yes, but Children's ITV as an actual strand was only introduced at the beginning of 1983 to unify children's programming across the regions, as before then each region handled it themselves under the branding of 'Watch It!'.

I thought they stopped making CITV programmes about five years ago?

CITV channel continues to commission some new material. Including My Phone Genie, Fort Boyard, Horrid Henry, Sooty etc

CITV on ITV1 in the afternoon ended in 2006 i think, but continues on weekend mornings 6-9.25am, and some Bank Holidays.

I remember the 20th Birthday special. They had all the old presenters in the studio, Gary Terzza, Jeanne Downs, Scally etc.

i really hope they return to having live in-vision continuity in January. CITV just isnt the same without it. And i think the channel could show some of the greats like Mike & Angelo and Woof! to celebrate 30 years

How was presentation handled before 'Watch It'?

Every region for itself, I guess?

    Looking forward to this :)

I wonder if it'll be like something they did in September/October 1996 called CITV at 40, which celebrated all Children's programming on the commercial network since 1956. :D

    Bump...

I'm almost certain they'll highlight the Saturday morning kids TV that they must have had back in the day.

Without sounding like a troll - I hope the set falls on Holly & Stephen. I hate the pair of them. What a load of old crap. Celebrating a crappy kids network in peak time!!

    "17:00 The Tomorrow People"

Not a good idea. The original which I was besotted by at the time, doesn't stand up to much nowadays and the remake was crap!
