Study's found popularity in British music has flopped outside the uk in the last 10 years. But Robbie Willams and Dido along with Adle still flys the flag for British music along with The Pordigy and Calvin Harris. But people in the UK and there own country are shunning it Becuase of things like the Internet.Plus UK artists try hard to be American and losing there own sound and style.

According to the daily mail.

What about Coldplay?? You cant go anywhere in the world without meeting people who are fans of them, particularly in the USA and Canada!!

Duran Duran are huge as well internationally, even more so during the past 10 years!!

Another band as well, flying the UK flag is Depeche Mode!!

Those 2 bands alone fly the flag MORE for British music than Robbie Williams(The USA have barely heard of him) and Dido!! Adele flys the UK music flag internationally due to over exposure of the media and having her forced down the worlds throats!! Dido had her 15 minutes of fame, purely due to a duet she did with Eminem!!

The Daily Mail needs to do their research!!:mad:

Most of it is bland and unoriginal and a lot if them sound the same that's why, other places tend to have more variety.

Food. You're thinking of British food.

The golden era artists of British music are still hugely popular worldwide, but we have had very limited performers of the stature we had in the 60s/70s since then.

The New York concert last year for storm damage charity showed that. The Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney, Roger Waters and Eric Clapton. What a line up.

Iron Maiden's last studio album released in 2011 went to number one in 28 different countries.

Sade is incredibly popular in the US. Actually her albums and tours sell more in the US than here, despite being british.

You don't dine out much then for whilst music has not done well in the UK of late, the food had improved tremendously. :D

This sentence alone stops me believing anything written above.

British music is doing much better worldwide than it was 3 years ago. But probably much worse than it was 40 years ago.

That's what I thought. I wondered what their agenda was in this case?

Europe has improved and the US will probably always be the dominate force but the British are more than holding their own in a competitive market.

Surely this is a load of crap? Last year alone Adele, Mumford & Sons, One Direction & Ed Sheeran all managed to sell truck loads of records. Whether you like those artists or not, the simple fact is they're all British ans have all performed well in the US as well.

Some people also hear statistics from years ago and think they still apply today. I often hear that sales are at their all-time low for the singles chart. That was true in 2005, but it's not true anymore, but some people think that still is true.

This can't be true. Look at the US itunes charts and there are loads of random British artists. Olly Murs Troublemaker has done surprisingly well. Emeli Sande is selling. Even Little Mix's album is hovering at around 3-5 on itunes.
