Probably best to keep out of this thread if you like films with twists! ;)

The Others was a pretty good twist I thought. As was Les Diaboliques.

It wasn't a good film overall but the twist in the middle of Breaking Dawn part 2 was very well done.

Skeleton Key! I know .... I'm slow - everyone else I knew got it within half an hour!

Loved the twist in The Last Seduction.

There is a film that recently came out called Now You See It. Its a film about magicians. Has THE BEST twist ever!! Like me, at first you'll think its ridiculous and implausible, but if you're really smart and don't have to watch it again to understand, then VOILA

It's 'Now You See Me'. I actually thought the twist was obvious, considering they alluded to it at the beginning with the guy in the blue hood appearing as each magician is introduced. It was just a matter of guessing who.

    The Sixth Sense.
Actually I thought of the twist straight away but it was so well crafted a film that by the time it came I was surprised.

Now You See Me must rank as one of the dumbest films of the year. None of it makes sense and the twists serve no storytelling purpose other than for the writers to say "You didn't see that coming, did you!". By the time the dumbest twist of the lot appeared, I'd long stopped caring or paying much attention. My reaction was 'Right. Sure. Whatever".

It's just The Prestige with added dumb.

I'm also a bit of a sucker for a good twist. Anyway here are my 2 offerings:

    Whatever Happened To Baby Jane

The Ipcress File. Although the twist occurs before the end of the film it still surprised me when I first saw it as a 16 year old.

I was watching a gruesome horror film with a horde of murderous zombies killing everyone in their path. Then suddenly a Chubby Checker record came onto the soundtrack and the zombies broke into a 60s dancestep.

Same here. Its so obvious when you rewatch it but first time around I was shocked.

Same first time I saw The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.I had heard there were twists but didn't spot them until they were revealed.
    I must be pretty naive!

Old films there are so many, most of which are already listed, but for more recent films:

    Oblivion
    Cabin in the Woods
    Looper

One old movie im amazed no one has mentioned, Empire Strikes Back!

I'm going to say Fight Club but if you're paying attention, there are several clues throughout. I saw it again recently, it's surprising how coherent the film is, and how many hints there are to the twist. I was kicking myself for having missed some of them.

The one at the end of Dirty Sally Crazy Larry. Literally leaves you blinking with shock as the end credits roll.
