Educating Yorkshire.
Educating Yorkshire starts on Channel 4 on Thursday September 5 at 9pm

Filmed at Thornhill Community Academy near Dewsbury, Educating Yorkshire captures every detail of life in the school, from playground hijinks and inspirational lessons to life-changing events.
It follows the work of Headteacher Jonny Mitchell, who was born and raised in the area, to better the chances for all his students and build on successive years of improving exam results.
Helped by a stellar team of staff, Mr Mitchell is on a quest to drive up standards and improve the reputation of his school in the local area.

Telegraph's take on it.

I hope it's as good as educating Essex which was very very good.

Anyone inspired to sightsee in the Dewsbury area should check out the West Riding pub at Dewsbury Station.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

The girl that shaved her eyebrows off seems like a character.

Hope it educates it into making better adverts for its broadband and its tea. Brass bands aren't obligatory! :D

Looks like the 'characters' wind up the teachers from the trailer.

Yorkshire? Why not a Scottish school that would be good entertainment seeing teens drink & smoke to death :D

They should have come to Hull and filmed at one of the schools here. Would be more interesting than the show channel 5 is currently filming on board East Yorkshire buses.

So we have Big School, Bad Education and now Educating Yorkshire.

Are writers running out of ideas?

Lazy question, made more annoying by the fact you haven't even bothered to read the OP.

I'll guess you're expecting the usual DS kvetching, which doesn't need much feeding in the way actual discussion/argument.
    'Writers these days aren't funny'
'It was all better in the old days of classic sitcoms...'
Anyway, here's a nice Radio Times article on the subject of sitcoms set in schools.

Everytime the trailer comes on I'm compelled to join in with her "I shaved me eyebrows off ... me eyebrows" (lots of head swivelling) :)

I'm a teacher (primary) and I enjoyed every minute of Educating Essex. I hope this will be just as fantastic :)
Nicely timed for the start of the new school year as well!

Whilst the first two might be comdies, the 3rd one isn't. It's a real life documentary & besides it's not even on a BBC channel :D

Educating Essex was great & can't wait for this one!!

I can't wait for it. The advert looks great. Especially the girl who says she doesn't have the numbers on the bottom of her work and the teacher points out they are actually letters and she says "Same thing" haha.

I'm watching it purely for the hero of a teacher who yells "you're in school! DO maths!" What an absolute legend.

Seems like this guy was occupied (perhaps shaving his eyebrows off) when the "reading" lessons were going on in Educating Cambridgeshire?

I am very much looking forward to this. I though Educating Essex was brilliant and I hope this maintains that standard.

I already laugh every time I see the girl who is so proud at having shaved her eyebrows off. I think she is going to be quite a character.
