This is one time i'm glad Harry Shearer has never won an Emmy for his Simpsons work. Hmm.... though judging by the way Al Jean has worded what he has said, i think sadly it's between

Sideshow Bob and Mrs. Krabappel
both would be a big shake up. Perhaps one of them doesn't wanna do it anymore? 0

How Dr. Nick Riviera met his demise in "The Simpsons Movie" is more than laughable - but the way Maude Flanders got killed off in the series (in 2000), thanks to Homer the no-brainer, was beyond appalling, especially the funeral scene. Critics labelled the episode as 'touching'. Eh?
As for the saxophone player 'Bleeding Gums' Murphy (still seen in the extended (old) opening titles, even after his demise), there is no need to criticise his untimely end.
And as for Dr. Marvin Monroe...well, given his appearance years later at a signing of Marge's novel, he might not be dead, after all.
Alas, given what I've seen of the modern episodes of the show I suspect insensitivity will be likely. The latest episode had 3 lead characters drinking and driving as part of the gag. The scene was not treated as shocking or wrong, just part of the show. The morality of the show seems to have been sucked away
It was absolutely appalling. Not only was Homer responsible for Maude's death, he then quipped that he'd also parked in an ambulance zone so that she couldn't be resuscitated. In a later episode, he 'helped' Ned sort through Maude's things by secretly feeding all of her belongings through a wood-chipper. It was pretty shocking how much they made him out to be a complete monster rather than the loveable buffoon of the first eight or nine seasons.
That said, I don't think they'd kill off another one of Ned's wives. My money is on Bob.
Can you kill off Lisa please, she never says or does anything remotely funny and every season she's even more annoying, whiny and self-righteous than the last.
Thanks!
Let it be the Homer & Bart show.
now the Simpsons
confidence?
It's been don'y plenty of times in the past. If you read the thread you will find one of those happened on The Simpsons. Maude, Marvin (I think he reappeared), Moleman?
South Park have done it a couple of times, not including Kenny.
Characters die in tv shows all the time. Hardly a coincidence.
Agree sometimes she is so annoying
Bleeding Gums Murphy's death was fairly touching, at least Lisa got to say goodbye to him
Would be cool if they brought back all the dead characters as ghosts in a Halloween episode.
NO!!!!! No, No, No, No!!!!! Lisa is my fav character, even though i dont watch the latest series i'd be devastated none the less if she were to die!
Me personally i dont really think killing someone off is a big deal! Because of the strange reason to keep everyone at the same age over the past 24 years, no character has had a decent character progression so i wont think killing of a character will make a difference!
He also 'died' during the Simpsons Spin-off Showcase episode (that was a spoof so it doesnt count).
THIS! Lisa is my favorite. Not everyone gets her, but she can be so cute and so funny. There's an episode that I can never find a clip off on youtube where she asks Bart if he likes her new boots, It's so adorable!
