If the awful charity cover versions by James Arthur and Justice Collective can reach #1 then it'd be a crap start to the 2013 #1s should 'Sceam & Shout climb to the top.
I like the song - there's no reason why it shouldn't. However, it probably won't in 2012, since James Arthur or that other charity single will be No.1. But it may be no.1 in early 2013.
it probs will climb up because there aren't usually many new entries at the beginning on the year, and the support for the xmas number 1 kind of wains, so its unfortunately probably likely. Rihanna could also do it with Stay
Unfortunately I think it will do for the reasons lovelife7292 states above and also due to the traditional boost certain songs get from people spending I-Tunes vouchers they get for Christmas - expect this, Rihanna and Gangnam style to climb up I-Tunes in the next week or so.

Hopefully. It's a pretty good track, far better than 'S & S'
I seriously can't understand it's success, even by generic 'club bangers' standards it's pretty rubbish. Surely it won't be one of those tracks that just won't go away?

I usually hate this type of song but it has the novelty if Britney and her accent and a droning hypnotic beat that sticks like Kylie's CGYOOMH (whilst poor in comparision) it's s simple hook and catchy melody that sticks us where it's success lies.
It's not official chart (based on sales) so it's hardly achievement, but i reckon next week it will be #1 officially
Usually, Radio 1's chart show is a week behind the BT40. But there have been a lot of sales, after all, how did it get to No.1 on iTunes? (The Big Top 40 Show uses iTunes sales for its chart.)
P.S. I don't care about Radio 1's chart (even if they claim to be "official") because I cannot stand the presenters, or the station. I always use BT40, and they're a week ahead of everyone else!
Plus I use iTunes....
I'm guessing you listen to Radio 1's chart (which is also used by the OCC)?
Usually, the Official Chart (or the one that R1 use) is a week behind, and since I doubt there will be anything special happening soon, it'll probably happen next week on Radio 1's official chart.
But at least they can claim to have reached No.1 on iTunes (which the BT40 uses), and more people listen to the BT40 chart anyway!
It's #1 on Itunes already and with no big release incoming it'll most likely be #1 next week
Correct. I posted a link to the BT40 chart (which uses iTunes sales data) and it's No.1 there. Usually Radio 1 is a week behind.
P.s. I only use the BT40, I don't like R1.

But no one cares about the BT40. It's unofficial. It has about as much relevance as 'Top 10 Tunes This Week' on Smash Hits TV or something.

Drivel.

74,765 last week.
88,400 this week.

It's bad enough this is Britney's biggest hit in years, never mind her first #1 in near nine years as well.
Ha ha, love it when this chart gets it wrong

I agree it will almost definitely be #1. Very undeserving but there is nothing else to challenge it.
If this is what we have to look forward to in 2013, we're in for another terrible year.
